Very beautiful fish, is this species hard to come by? I would love to find some of these or Apistogramma mendezi but never see them anywhere, why is that?
No I wouldn't be able to move the tetras, they're too quick and would upset the tank, however, she isn't eating her fry, in fact, she seems to be a good mother. She keeps all her fry over my her side of the tank, just on the side of the clay pot and the tetras really don't seem to be interested...
I've had this pair of orange flash for a while now and they have spawned quite a few times in the past but the female would always end up eating the eggs. Well this morning I was sitting at my computer when the light on my 10gallon tank went on, I glanced over at it and there in the back, just...
Thank you, I will begin feeding them when I get home from work later this afternoon. Yes, these are baby Pelvicachromis pulchers and although I'm not quite sure just what I'm going to do with so many of them, it is very exciting.
I came home tonight to both parents out with the fry, there's a ton of them in there but they are so very small. When do I start feeding them and what? I have Hikari First Bites and a tube of Wardley Small Fry Essentials.
I also have frozen Brine Shrimp and Frozen Blood Worms but I don't...
For the past 4 days, the female has pretty much stayed in the coconut shell she shares with the male, he comes out to eat and seems to be protector, chasing off the three blue rams (2 females and one male) that also share this tank, even though they basically keep to the opposite side.
The...
Can someone give me the name of a medicated food for my male krib, he's not coming out to eat with the female and he's still hiding from me, although he's still hanging in there and doesn't seem to be disoriented like he was a few days ago.
I have been dropping some food right over the...
Update
Well I finally moved my fish around, putting my apisto orange flash in the 10 gallon tank with three small glo-lite tetras and then removing the male krib from that tank and adding him back into the 29 gallon tank but not until after I removed the 2 female kribs and one small male blue...
Well I've done a couple of huge water changes and the male seems to be getting worse. As of yesterday, he hasn't come out to eat in days and then last night he finally made an appearance and seemed very disoriented, he couldn't swim right, as if his equilibrium was off. I removed him from the...
Are males the ones that usually guard the eggs with Kribs? The female has been out and about, not going into the hut as she was in the past, which makes me think there are no eggs in there.
I am actually scheduled to do my 50% water change tomorrow but I will do it tonight when I get home...
I've had him for few months now and he would always come out with the other fish to eat. He lives in a 29 gallon planted community tank, along with 3female kribs and pair of apisto's (orange flash), two small blue rams and a pair of very young ottos.
For the past three days, he hasn't come...
Very nice, I have a pair of orange flash and find that they pretty much stick together, which was so much different with a pair of red tails, the male constantly chased the female and made sure she stayed on the other side of the tank. Then when they'd spawned, she'd go after him every chance...
Okay, the male and one of the females are starting to get cozy with one another, just like week the male was still chasing all three females but two days ago I began to notice that both of them are a lot more colorful and both of them are now chasing the other two females, who are still a bit...
I was finally able to purchase two male red kribs and they are about the same age as the females. I have had them for approximately a week now but so far they do not seem interested in the females or vice versa. They are a bit larger as you suggested, just not as large as the single Krib I had...
Does it matter where you purchase your Kribs from as far as breeding goes? In other words, I finally was able to purchase two males to go along with the 3 females I already had. They are two male red kribs from the breeder who was selling them on Aquabid. The females that I already had look...
