my male viejita died after 3 years and half.
he died quitely with no symptoms , just tired :(

but here is my story.
in the begining i have an harem of this fish , 1 male 3 females in 33galons.
nerver get them spawn.
as soon i put ,what i see as a couple, in a 10 gallon tank , i get fry.
so they say the like harem , mine doesn't :)

your PH is a little bit high for any Apisto except Cacs who i already raise and spawn at a PH higher than 7.
and just my opinion , you will have to remove this cherry barb from this tank.

i will suggest a 20 to 25 gallons tanks
with A. cactuoides or A. borelli who i think is the Apisto who support better , a non very top water quality (doesn't mean they will support anything :) :)) but they support ph around 7.

Never try remove egg from apisto.
but what i can say, it will be more easier and safe to remove the female and not the eggs.
the eggs will also need at my opinion a little bit of aeration.
by the way , if you are sure she will eat them , you have nothing to loose by trying :)

i usually put my net in a methylene blue when i am not using them, or after i use them from a tank

The problem for us canadian people is the shiping.
usually seller on aquabid doesn't ship to canada live material.
really dont know why , but it is a fact.
make sure the seller will ship to canada before bid on anythings.
