Thanks Frank! That sounds promising. I was just thrown by a comment prevously on this forum by Mike Wise stating that hoignei do not show a lateral spot, which these fish seem to do occasionally.

Just picked up 6 fish sold as A. hoignei. They were a Czech import and could either be wild caught or captive bred.
I was reasonably happy with the ID in the shop but I'm not an expert and have noticed what look like one or two lateral spots since getting them home, which I believe...
It's great once you've got scripts for everything you want to do, but I hate learning new packages. I am terrible at scripting in general however.
It probably didn't help that the last package I had to learn (rMark) has a manual called 'A Gentle Introduction...' which is 1000+ pages. I guess...
For carpet plants I've had slow but steady growth from L. brasiliensis and E. acicularis in dim low tech tanks with lots of floating cover. Worth a shot.
