    A. agassizii, which location?

I was wondering if someone can tell my where my A. agassizii come from? It's very hard to take a clear picture of him. The markings on his tail (around the black spot) are in reality a bit white and orange. I bought them a while ago as wildcaught agassizii from a breeder, but he couldn't...

    VOTE - June 2014 POTM - Ends July 3rd.

Thanks guys ;) About the prize: I'm unable to pick it up because of the distance (Holland - USA is quite a long trip). Maybe the second place holder can claim it?

My Sturisomas have spawned again last night: There already are a lot of moldy eggs, so they'll probably won't survive.

    Apistogramma allpahuayo biotope

New setup: Unfortunately, my male allpahuayo died a couple of weeks ago. I gave both females away, and bought a harem of Apistogramma caetei. They're still a bit shy, so it's very hard to take any pictures of them.

About a week ago, I finally managed to get a wild caught male ramirezi. Unfortunately, I'm still not 100% sure whether it's a male or a female. Old female to the left, new one to the right: Again the old female: The new 'male', clearly a different bodyshape than the female: I've marked his...

Thanks ;) @rr16, I haven't got any tips unfortunately. Except for this one, I've never had any young plants from my Echinodorus. Haven't done anything special either. I guess plenty of nutrition is the trick?

New setup: Thought it'd be nice to go for a bit more natural look. I randomly 'dropped' the branches in the tank this time ;)

Those Tyttocharax are beautiful! Never heard of them before. If they wouldn't be so hard to get, it'd be a nice combination (Tyttocharax, Crenuchus and allpahuayo) in a larger tank.

Thanks Cooder :D @Vestor, I never let them dry. I put them in my tank right away after washing all the sand off.

    Apistogramma allpahuayo biotope

Nope, there aren't really any other benefits. Although my Apisto females seem to prefer laying their eggs near the roots, than elsewhere. It would also be a great hiding place for young fish I guess ;)

    Apistogramma allpahuayo biotope

Thanks Vestor ;) The stuff on the substrate are roots from the Syringa vulgaris. I've got them in my other tank too.

Thanks all ;) I have almost no current. I've blocked most of the current of my primary filter with some pieces of wood because it has to much power. The only current is from a small Superfish Aquaflow 100, which is only to produce enough oxygen and current for the dirt to keep moving. Those...
