    Stocking help

Thank you cody that was most helpful. I am currently in talks with smiths aquariums and both the brevis and the Julies are being sourced from Oldforum. I will look further into the species you have listed. Cabinet just arrived last week and still have to stain it. Also looking into sump...

    Stocking help

So I have all most finished my setup for my three foot cube tang tank. I want a community tank but was sticking with, - Brevis - julidochromis transcriptus "Gombi" But the third option I am unsure of. I was looking into Paracyprichromis nigripinnis But I am unsure I want them in my tank. I...

    "Dehane" Pelvicachromis taeniatus advice

As soon as I seen the infection I moved them to the smaller HT. The female did not respond well to the multi cure treatment. Strange that only effected the dehanes. My water chemistry has not changed and I have a full planted tank. I change my water twice weekly. As you say now I am convinced...

    "Dehane" Pelvicachromis taeniatus advice

Hey guys, My pair of Dehanes in my tank have both come down with an unknown disease/parasite. I have had them for 5 months now and have never had an issue with them. Recently the male started having fits and has stopped eating and is breathing rapidly. I cranked the tank to 28 deg c and added...

how would Eco-Complete™ Planted Aquarium Substrate do in this tank? Substrate is a fustrating option as it's hard to find the ideal one for the fish as people tend to choose substrate for the look. If I choose to use sand would be a benificial idea to put some aragonite substrate in the...

Do you have a picture of your layout? I would love to see it... The crushed coral I have found is super fine and is very very white! I have dark brown substrate in my three foot tank and it looks great. with such a veriaty of substrate options available colours will not be such and issue. and...

Brilliant setup! I was considering play sand but i did find a very fine crushed coral substrate. Any reason you advise against the coral? How are you buffering your water? My layout has to be tall as the tank is not long but high. River rocks would be difficult to stack. Would love using them...

With all the reading i have done i have noted that they require 10 inch radius around the shell? In any case they will have more then that. They will have a half tank each. I was planning on having borders using the lava rock to define the territories.

Thank you for your suggestions. The julidochromis transcriptus are a great looking fish! I can see why you chose cyprichromis. They seem to offer great harmony with in the tank by hanging around the top half. This will give a breather to the bevis. As for the brevis Each pair will be positioned...

That's the point of all this research i guess. i no longer have the peacocks. Were far to aggressive for my liking... I have four brevis on order from a local breeder and i'm currently compiling a stock list that they would be happy to be with. I want the brevis for their personality not their...

That's some solid information, thank you! I will throw another question to you if you don't mind. If the lakes are different and F1 fish taken from them are bred in aquriums and the fish I have is by nature the same breed but is so far from the original as it's tolerant to a wider water...

Other than temperament though there is no real reason why they can't be kept together. They share the same water chemistry. There is no chance they will mate. The only issue is if they will get eaten. But with peacocks around the 10cm Mark it will be no issue. I have now crossed referanced this...
