I got this fish in amongst female sp oregon. It was young and it was hoped to be a male. As can be seen, today it decided to declare itself as a female but what species. I know its not the best time to id but any opinion would be received. Mike Wise if you see this what do you think.i
Got 5 small specimens of this species from Holland. Ive read the species description but does anyone have any experiences they could share with this species. A couple of record shots below.
I view this from taptalk on my mobile so this relates to this media.
With the new forum layout it seems that you have to jump through all the different section to read posts. What is wrong with a New Post section to read all that is being posted.

I got a small group of these recently and now have a pair with free swimming fry. The group is 4m and 2f. I would like to separate the others from the pair but its not going to be easy catching them.
Does anyone have any papers on the breeding and rearing of this species that they can share...
I read on the Apistogramma facebook group that there is a revision of the regani complex of the orinoco. Or a least I think that's what it said as it was in Spanish.
Anyone have any info on this.
Derek
I lost my second male this morning when i discovered he had jumped out the tank. I put in my spare male and they have been displaying ever since.

I have a group of 5 young fish of this species. 2 have now declared themselves as females and ready for a male. Unfortunately the males appear to be lagging a bit in maturity. This morning a male and female were having a go at one another and eventually led to them locking mouths and swimming...
I have what has been said elsewhere soft water but that it probably contains phosphates which are buffering my ph at 6. If I bought a deionize filter and resin does anyone have an opinion on what minerals i need to replenish for apistos breeding. My tapwater reads Ph 7.8 gh 3, KH, ammonias and...
I am about to set up 2 partitioned tanks which will allow me to vary the size of tank for raising fry. I was going to go with a bare tank. My question is this should I have corys small plecs to help keep tank in order.

I removed Silver-tipped Tetras I had in my breeding tanks as I felt they were quite aggressive even chasing the apistogrammas about. I thought about using dwarf cory`s but not sure if that`s the best plan. What would you all recommend as dither fish in a breeding tank or do you not bother.
HELLO
I am based in Dundee Scotland and was wondering how many other Apisto keepers are in Scotland, would be useful to know a few peopke that are breeding so we could share fish and local info.

This fry has developed a sore of some sort on the area between tail and body. Can someone help diagnose this and suggest a treatment.

My fem has become very attached to her little cave. Chasing off the tetras but still dancing to the male when he comes near. The short video below shows this behaviour. My question is this, is she defending her cave because she has spawned or is she prepared to spawn but as yet the male is not...
