Wondering what apisto hybrids people have come accross

Crazy isn't it! It makes me wonder what things people will be talking about in 200 years considering that 200 years ago we were just discovering germs-

    Stealing Ivanacara Adoketa eggs.. hmm

I believe they are though I learned my lesson from the last time they layed not to go looking for them. The tank they live in is soo overgrown and wild - They aren't acting like either of them is guarding eggs and for the first time I saw them chasing eachother around- edited- still trying to...

Wondering what apisto hybrids people have come accross

I have to disagree about the tame nature association- though it's your observation. Hybrydization only appeals to me for the sense of adventure it offers- The strangeness of it. Though I wholeheartedly appreciate purity and the divinity of nature I am also very interested in the odd combination...

    Finally... they're swimming (I. adoketa)

sweet! I'm working on hatching some myself! They layed once so far and the eggs lasted atleast a few days but I can't say what happened after that. good luck with the fry- my waters the same color!

    Stealing Ivanacara Adoketa eggs.. hmm

Thanks for the advice- The have layed once before and seemed to be very good parents. They didn't fight at all after the eggs were gone. I know the female is the culprit though, the male's younger and a little smaller - it's like he does whatever she wants and is very eager to do whatever he...

    The Bump head Cichlid

Update- lost one wiggler and all the rest survived transfer from the store tank to my breeding room. Swimming and eating a ton, these guys take a long time to hatch but grow fast! I had another pair spawn but they ate the eggs. Now that I know how durable the eggs are I'm just going to keep on...

    Stealing Ivanacara Adoketa eggs.. hmm

Malanochromis that's the wrong thing to tell me right now, I'm watching them getting ready to lay again right now spot cleaning the slate and practice laying.. I think I'm going to cover the tank and let them try this one on their own again- I'll look at them again in a week or so.. oh man...

    Stealing Ivanacara Adoketa eggs.. hmm

Hmm..some fish give them up so easily though too with out any problems. Thank you for the insight.

    Stealing Ivanacara Adoketa eggs.. hmm

Well, they are in a heavily planted 40 long with driftwood with a small (getting smaller) school of tetras. Patience is not my strong suit! I'm just wondering if this fish is going to hold a grudge against me if I take the eggs! I never owned such a fearless fish that acts so smart- it's like...

    Stealing Ivanacara Adoketa eggs.. hmm

I have a beautiful pair of Ivanacara Adoketa in a planted 40 long. They are the same fish that adopted 20 or so Vieja Zonatus fry that I posted a video on. As soon as I took the fry away the pair Spawned and layed about 150 eggs. This is my first try with these guys and I'll tell you that I...

can somebody ID this pelvichromis he came in on wild krib shipment

Judging from the pictures of P.sacrimontis - I'm pretty sure that many of fish on that order are them instead of Kribensis though I'm also pretty sure that few people aorund here would know the difference. It's nice because I already spawned and am raising about a hundred of them -quite...

Wondering what apisto hybrids people have come accross

who wouldn't want to just see a "liger" or "Loepon" or "zebroid" though :) I know it's wrong and I'm totally serious about apisto purity but that Parrot/flowerhorn I have swimming around is one strange and entertaining fish!

Wondering what apisto hybrids people have come accross

There's a whole lot more good than bad that I wouldn't trade for the world which man is directly responsible for in selective breeding- especially in Dogs. Hybrids in some fish can be fun- I think we all can agree though that most dwarf cichlid lovers do hold the purity of their fish in a very...

    being shipped priority...

X's 2! I don't have an experience with buying fish from any of the other breeders on this forum but they certainly seem like good people to me. Dave on the other hand has taught me a ton and his fish are very beautiful but more important to me very Hardy compared to my previous sources!
