    Copella callolepis (sensu Zarske)

Thanks darrel! That’ll be my goodnight read. This evening my callolepis pair is at it again. I came home from “den blå planet” (Danmarks national aquarium) an hour or so ago, and saw them. They have been swimming up and Down from the same leaf since. Could those little white dots here be eggs...

    Copella callolepis (sensu Zarske)

Hi chromedome! Now, i don’t know where in the world you are, but i you are able to order fish from ruinemanns in netherland, you can get hold of some copella callolepis. I recently saw them on their site. I got my callolepis by a mistake, because they where labelled as natterneri. Beautiful...

bitaeniatas all around (sorry, might be image heavy)

Thanks Andy! Yeah! Bitaeniata males show extended caudal fin tips aswell as first 3-4-ish dorsal rays. The one in the picture is the small female. females are smaller and as far as i can see, have a bigger black mark on their ventral fins. But you are absolutely right, the big one is the joker...

    Copella callolepis (sensu Zarske)

Hi!! As i was writing another post here, i spotted my only two remaining callolepis, spawn on a leaf near the surface. Ofcause i checked for eggs as soon as they where done, but sadly i couldn’t see any. But i’m glad to see they are in the mood again, because they have been laying low for a...

bitaeniatas all around (sorry, might be image heavy)

Hi all! I thought i share a few glimpes of my brand new 75 liter tank, for my "new" bitaeniatas (they are kids from my first pair, where the big male and dad sadly died around october). Plus i got a few questions regarding some of the bitaeniatas in one of the other tanks. But first a little...

    Apistogramma bitaeniata

Hi all! Small question... Sadly, my great a. bitaeniata male died. He was heavy breathing and a bit overall swollen, for some days. I tried to look up the symptoms, but couldn't find the cause or act on any in time. So here's my question, what do you think is best? -redecorate the caves and a...

    Clay like substrate

Thanks a lot for the suggestions, you two. Darrel: looks like i got a few things to read up on.. Sadly i don’t have a new tank to set up(-wondering how to go about that... hehe), but if i did i would probably go with the types of sand i already got going, but it was a fun thing to think about...

    Clay like substrate

Hi all! I have just re-read the describtion for the d37-gillspot, that Tom put up some time ago. In it, it says that the habitat had a “clay like” substrate, which made me think of how to mimic that in a tank? I have read of people using red clay to help plant growth (mixed with peat), but...

    A. bitaeniata and friends (not a true biotope tank)

hey again! i just spotted these guys together with their mother today. i know i probably shouldn't dwell too much on colouration, but i still find it fun to see the color difference in the two females breeding dress. this is the large one and the first pictures in this thread is of the small...

    A. bitaeniata and friends (not a true biotope tank)

morning all! i thought i was time for a small picture update here of tank and juveniles. i have tweaked the decor a bit. i got 8 juviniles going in my grow out tank, from the first successful batch (-not a lot, but any survivor is greatly appreciated). there have been a few spawns since, but...
