    Stocking A 75

So I have a 75 sitting in my basement just begging to get some new apistos, so, obviously, the only possible conclusion is to make it an Apisto tank.:D. The tank will look along the lines of Slimbolen99's A. Schwarzkinn tank (...

    Apisto. Melgar?

My not-so-local fish store got some new apistos in. They are labled as A. Melgar, this is the first time I've heard of this species so I'd like to confirm of the ID.

    Angels and Apistos?

I recently purchased a 75 gal. tank (48in x 18 x 21L) and, as an apisto nut, I'm not going to miss an opportunity to make another colony tank! Since this will technically be a "show-tank" I was wondering what fish I could use as upper-tank swimmers. I would love to get some Angels and smaller...

Thanks. Yea I knew they bred in colonies. The whole "work together" behavior is why I would love to get some.

    Brichardi small enough?

A while ago, I purchased two 65 gal acrylic tanks from aquariumplants.com . They are 36Lx24Wx18T with rounded corners. One is an aquascaped show tank, the other is empty. After a recent remodel in my fish room, I shifted towards aquarium plants (emersed and submerged), but, like you prob...

    Black Beard Algae

Thanks everyone, I went for overdosing Excel, and so far so good. Most of the algae has retreated or been eaten by the shrimp and their new babies. Thanks for the help Jonathan

    Black Beard Algae

Hey everyone, A while back I started a new 65 gal. "Nature aquarium". Started off by growing out the plants emersed (to avoid snails, algae, and other nasties). All was going well, until the algae appeared. First it was the Hydrocotyle, so I blacked out the entire room. I came back a week later...

    Nijsseni and Panduro

when you look at them, they should be easily told apart. Panduro is a more vibrant blue, and P. has red rather than the nijssenis' orange. A big tell is the shape of the tail accent; Nijsseni have a triangular accent and Panduro has a round trace.

I'm a big fan of Nijsseni/panduro (when it comes to pairing Apistos). They're relatively easy to care for/breed and find. Pictures ?

    Alternative for Vallisneria

I'd go with Cryptocoryne Crispatula var. Balansae or C. Retrospiralis.
