Hi,
Just resurrecting an old thread.
What is the role of temperature in hatching artemia? Why is the hatch rate lower in colder temperatures?
Might be a stupid question but I have no extra heaters at the moment and struggling to get decent size batches.
Hi,
I use a 40 liter bucket which has peat and misc leaves for waterchanges. Very easy way to control the amount of tint in tanks.
I´ll just add leaves when I start to see the bottom and the peat when conductivity stops to drop.
Just my 2 cents:
A few years. If I remember correctly, my last gravel vac was in 2017.
It´s a combination of leaf litter, decaying botanicals and sphagnum moss.
On a side note: Mike W just had to rain on my parade. ;) I was always in the impression that my tanks were the mulmiest.
I´d really dislike that guy if...
Hi,
No idea what could be causing this. Have you considered moving on? He looks really sick.
My experience with apistos is that they rarely come back if they get sick like that.
Hi,
I have no idea because I don´t measure ph. My tap ph is between 8-8,5. I got the values from water supplier.
Leaves are mainly Catappa from Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/usr/amy-lim?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
I usually add more leaves when I start to see the bottom clearly. I also add leaves...
Hi all,
Not much of value but i´d like to share my way of doing. I´m lazy. My tap circles around 130-180 µS.
I just filter it all through this and it drops way below 100 µS. Then it´s good to go.
I´ve bred Hongsloi/Njisseni/Cacatuoides/Panduro/"Abacaxis" this way.
All hail the tds meter...
Yes Frank, those are exactly the spots I was referring to. Now that you said it it´s quite obvious.
Two straight lines of dots in the area you mentioned.
Do you happen to have pictures or some source for the virus related spots?
Apologies to Jebe for hijacking your thread!
I was under the impression that those black marks only appear on wild specimens.
I vaguely remember reading here something about a virus. My memory´s a bit shot at the best of times though! ;)
Hi,
I have wild Baenschi "colony" and yours look a bit weird to me. Maybe some other color form? @Mike Wise @Frank Hättich ?
They are beautiful though and that tank looks stunning!
