Today I just notice that the female lead her fry out from the cave.

I read the book of Dwarf cichlid (DATZ) and in the book said that apistogramma diplotaenia has 2 variety from difference "orinoco" and "rio negro".
I wonder what the key to classify both of them?It's very similar.

From my experience apistogramma Bitaeniata from Peru is very hard to breed harder than Brazilian Bitaeniata. I don't know why? may be most of them are wild caught so the water condition in my tank is not suitable for them.
I try to set the condition to lower pH around 5.5 by peatmoss, soft water...
All of this are my A.sp. Tefe that I keep at my home now.
too many difference colour despite they are same specie that why A.sp.Tefe is one of the most my favourite apistogramma.
