    A. borellii setup feedback please

Thanks for the advice. I am keeping my eye out for some floating plants.

    A. borellii setup feedback please

I hear you, I’m all about a natural look. I’m happy with these though because they’re only a few inches tall, so you can’t see them from the front of the tank. But, I only added them because I thought they’d help with spawning.

    A. borellii setup feedback please

I just rescaped my 15 gallon for a pair of A. borellii and a small school of black neon tetra. Can you please provide feedback on my setup? I have a homemade cave (pictured below) on each side of the tank hidden in the plants.

    Considering A. Panduro or Agassizii

@Mike Wise do you think a A. macmasteri pair could also work for my setup?

    Considering A. Panduro or Agassizii

I’m also open to suggestions of other species of Apistogramma…but would like to avoid the very common A. Cacatuoides.

    Considering A. Panduro or Agassizii

Hello, I was hoping to get some thoughts on keeping a pair of one of these species in a 15 gallon aquarium (24”x12.5”x12.5”). If appropriately scaped, is the tank sufficient in size? I’d also like to note that my ph is 7.5 from the tap. I would have drift wood, leaf litter and peat in the...

    Ok, thank you very much.

    A. agassizii Spawning Behavior

Is there any chance the “male” posted above could be a female? My confirmed female continues to show spawning behavior towards “him”, leaning to flash her yellow belly…but today I noticed “he” did the same to her once and then swam into a cave.

    A. agassizii Spawning Behavior

Thank you for the information. If they eventually spawn and there is no success, I can move them to my 15 gallon where the ph is just under 7. Trying to further reduce it.

    A. agassizii Spawning Behavior

I decided to get my female a male friend last weekend and was excited to see her behavior change last night. They’re in a 75 gallon aquarium. She would repeatedly swim to him and then turn a bit to her side to flash her yellow belly, and then swim back towards her cave. He appears to be too...

    Female Advice Please

Dang...found the female dead this morning :( No signs of being beaten up either. I have some new magnolia leaves soaking. Once they sink, I’ll try and introduce my other female.

    Female Advice Please

Thanks for the time and advice. Those pots are only about 2 3/8” tall. Anything else you would suggest putting in there?

    Female Advice Please

Thanks for the reply Mike. I’ll stick to 2 in that tank. I’m in no hurry for them to spawn, my main concern is just the well being of the female if she’s going to be hiding behind the heater all the time. Water Parameters: pH - 7.0 KH - 40 GH - 30 Ammonia - 0 Nitrites - 0 Nitrates - 0 (I know...

    Female Advice Please

Hello! I have a male and female A. cacatuoides in a 15 gallon aquarium (24”x12”). The male was introduced 3/27/2021. The only other tank inhabitants are a few Otocinclus cats. Temp is about 79 and ph about 7.0. I have not seen the female in quite some time so I took the tank apart during...

    Female Agassizii?

Can anyone sex this one for me? I’ve had it for just over a year now and always thought it was a female, but never confirmed.
