i use all sorts of dried foods for mine and they never get the same meal everyday always something different from tetra crisps, to cichlid algae pellets to jbl novo tabs, floating algae sticks crushed up, spirulina powders for young, aswel as various frozen and live foods i normally rotate dry...
certainly looks male but the lack of extended dorsal fin rays could be down to a few things like he was a sub dominant male out of a large group as there is often only one dominant male, or due to poor breeding (too much inbreeding)
both female but sp.crystal is actually apistogramma cf luelingi crystal only difference between luelingi and the crystals is the females have a lyre-tail
yes male and female of last batch from my quad reds but also contain the gold gene as bred male quad red with female gold but also got the triple reds that have the quad red gene from steve barlow
very nice apisto there mark actually looking at importing some of these into the uk through iktus aqua in france like steve1572 did a few years ago for the bca as they have them on there list along with a few other rare ones
the ones im using aren't aquatic ones and never had a problem with them as they are 4ft LED T8 tubes 16w per tube, no problems with algae anymore since using them i got them from http://www.lampshoponline.com/t8-led-tubes/

no doubt they will breed as cacs are the easiest of apistos to breed and as long as youve got a male and female ur end up with some young lol its the best part of fish keeping watching them heard a bunch of fry around the tank .... and gets addictive i started off with one community tank 5 years...
well u already have one female gold cac in with him but often the czech bred golds are quite weak if u breed them together so breeding a gold with a red strengthens the youngs genetics and arnt so sensitive which is what i have been doing and slowly getting there on improving them
yes the cacatuoide in the photo is a female ...... although there have been cases where females look like males even with the black pelvic fins that females have it can be hard to tell sometimes as i have even seen some females in the usa that even have elongated fins, extended dorsal fin rays...
