Darrel, I believe you meant his plecos : )
Anyway the main problem is the ramshorns that are also eating my plants. I rarely see the mts the probably don't compete well with the ramshorns.
I picked up a few cynolebias antenori at an auction yesterday and would like to know what apistos or other dwarves might be found with them. They seem interesting enough to include in a biotope.
Thanks for the replies. I ended up ordering some assassin snails to see what they can do, if they don't produce satisfactory results I'll try what was suggested here.
I do syphon off what I can during my daily water changes and the fish in the tank get a small amount of bbs once a day and the plecos would get a few peas during the day and a wafer at night. The snails eat the pleco's food and devour my plants. With my daily water changes a quick kill with...
Does anybody have some advice on getting rid of snail without killing my plants? I've noticed that products made to kill snails contains quite a bit of copper, so those are out of the question. I have tried using a pvc tube capped off on one end for a trap(which works ok as long as the apistos...
In the last week and a half my Biotoecus Opercularis male has been a busy guy, all three females have spawned with the first spawn free swimming today. These fish have obviously never heard the stories of how hard they are to keep and spawn. The one thing I have never heard was how small the...
I do have more photos to post, it was really late when I posted. I have a few more up later.
As far as I know they most likely came in with the Erythura, but I would have to call to be sure. I currently do not have a female and getting one may be hard. The breeder wasn't keen on letting any go...
Interesting. When I found him he was in a tank of Erythura and the man that breeds those, has a very similar fish that came in wild under the name sp. Peru.
I just don't see Abacaxis at all with the lack of facial coloring and a blue anal fin instead of a yellow one.
Great that is a definite will do. For some reason I have terrible luck with picking them out and what makes it worse is the fact that my f1's were just a random scoop in the tank no picking one at a time.
I want to say more like aquarium cockroaches. You will probably want to keep some shrimp in their own tank to replenish the numbers in the other. I use them as an occasional treat for my apistos, separating them by size accordingly. It's really amusing to watch the apistos try to sneak up on them.
Just wondering if anyone might have a few T. Candidi female they'd be willing to part with? Out of all of the Taeniacara I've accumulated recently it looks like I only have 2.
This detailed description is going to help me alot Mike. I am going to try for better photos for you tonight now that I have the time and a better camera. Even if my fish doesn't match the description 100% I'll send photos just in case.
I am looking to hopefully get a pair of krobia itanyi or sp. xingu red cheek. If I can't get any from someone here any info on where I can get my hands on some would be greatly appreciated.
I took a look and only found was astyanax dnophos other characins were myleus, metynnis and serrasalmus. It's probably not alot of help, but there is not much info on the web. I did however find something called Bleher's biotopes: rio xingu and it gave a great description of the river. If you...
