Very odd that there is no dorsal extension, but I do see extension in other finnage which is a good sign, but as Mike pointed out at the age you stated it should be very clear. May I ask why the tank is unheated? That could be hindering their development.
I am looking into tankmates for my bitaeniata trio and I am trying to decide between n. marginatus and the A. reisei. Is there anyone that has experience with the reisei that can give me any info on possible fry predation?
Hmm not sure why it posted that again, but thanks Mike, he did seem at least to me to have a bit more color than other fish I was looking at online. Now to find him some girlfriends....
I've read it, it is informative as to what othe cichlids are found there along with pictures of those beautiful little characins that will most likely not grace the tanks of my local shops in my lifetime. I'd like to keep just the bitaeniata, marginatus, a small tetra school and a few cories...
I'd like to put biotope together for my bitaeniata, but so far I can only find N. marginatus are found in the same river. What other available fish might occur with them?
Got this oddball out of a tank of what was supposed to be wild caught pertensis just wondering if it is brietbinden, shop owner is ordering more to see if he can get me some females.
It took a lot of work for a horrible photo but I think you're right on the id there is definitely some dark markings on the "chin" that I couldn't see before
Local shop has a few of these that came in with wild pertensis, this female is just over an inch long and was the biggest. The owner separated them out so I could hopefully get a male when the others grow a bit more, any ideas?
