I should add, they are about 3cm long.
Also they arrived 3 days ago and were in pretty bad shape after shipping, maybe ammonia poisoning and they are still.recovering. I thought two of them.werent going to make it.

I didn't realize my soft water was bad for snails, but that makes sense, thanks for pointing it out.
I'm trying to imagine the snail crawling over eggs and just sucking any algae off them and leaving them in place without harm. I hope that's realistic.
I got a female sold as A Viejita Red for my A Viejita II which was previously identified as a macmasteri in another thread. The males in the A Viejita Red tank looked similar to my male.

I have 4 nerite snails in my tank along with a harem of A. Viejita (really macmasteri). There are also golden wonder killifish.
My question is, will the nerite snails eat any apisto eggs? The snails definitely go inside some areas they use as caves, although I dont think they go in the coconut...
I would like to use plants to create different territories within a tank for apistos. The plants would break up lines of sight and perhaps even form almost like hedges around different territories. What plants would be best for this?
