Great thanks for the pics. Hoping it should be fine as I’m only using the one filter. Might upgrade to a 407 filter in the future but will only ever run one at a time anyway.
Your tank looks great, exactly the sort of look I’m going for. I have about 4/5 different tetra varieties in my current...
Thanks for the input. You don’t have any photos of it to show what you mean do you?
I have a Fluval 306, and currently have the inlet and outlet at opposite corners, so assuming that should be fine and fit? Website doesn’t really show a lot of photos and didn’t pay much attention to this bit...
its more that I'm looking for something which is solid and stable, just in case the kids who run around accidentally bump into it. the tank is in the hallway in the space under the stairs so gets a lot of foot traffic.
open to any other suggests if you know of any better brands?
hi. love this. I am looking at doing something similar this month.
Are you able to advise on the type of sand used, and what the white plastic stuff is in the second photo under the larger pieces? Not seen this before, why do you have it, assuming just to protect the glass from stones?
Hi everyone. I am looking at upgrading my Fluval Roma 125 to an Aqua Oak solid oak 200l tank.
Just wanted to know if anyone has one of these, and if they are worth the money etc?
thanks in advance
Hi.
Unfortunately I have to get rid of my two small tanks as I am moving home and although most of the fish would go in the bigger tank I am keeping I can’t mix the male Hongsloi with the others and have to get rid.
I am in Hackney area and if anyone wants a free male and can come and collect...
Wanted to bring this back and update everyone on the smaller tank (the larger tank i replaced the dead male Cac with a pair of Kribs, as the LFS didnt have any new stock for ages, and they produced fry in about a week).
I still haven't had any fry from my Hongsloi.
But from the advice of...
Hi
My male cacatuoides has recently grown some weird growths on its back fins (white) and a single black one on its top fin.
I was away for Xmas for 2 weeks so it’s been the longest time that they have gone without a water change, although no other fish in the community tank of 30 fish has any...
I’m not sure I’m confident enough to start dosing HCl acid.
I’ve collected about 10l of rainwater and used an old filter to turn it over some carbon for a few hours and added that to the 125l tank. % wise it’s not a lot but will slowly keep doing this every few days to see if it helps.
Alder...
I do try to get live bloodworms and tubifex about twice a month, but I’m not able to grow any cultures at home myself. Should I be feeding live worms more often? I’ve had issues with camallanus worm previously and heard it’s from the live foods which is why I don’t feed more often.
The water actually goes through a roof top grassy meadow thing, so i assume it kind of gets filtered as the water is crystal clear. But i get that there might be some contaminants in the water i cant see so i will try this, thanks Mike.
In the larger tank I have a few large 'dragon' stone in there about 3kg worth, but was told this is pH neutral and also doesn't contribute to hardness (unless i am mistaken), and a large piece of driftwood too. Other than that there are only live plants. The smaller tank only has a stone about...
Hello everyone!
I have been testing my pH recently and it seems to be consistently at around 7-7.5, but ideally i would like it to be lower as i have Apistos in two separate tanks which i would love to get spawning.
I have added in so many almond tree leaves constantly over the past few...
A mixture of everything really. dried pellets daily and some frozen foods 2/3 times a week and throw in live food probably once a fortnight. sinking pellets (both carnivore and algae) couple times a week too. The smaller tank has a dwarf frog in there and so that has to have frozen bloodworm at...
It’s been a month now and still no luck. I’ve attached photos of the smaller and the larger tanks so you can see the set ups and give me any pointers please.
Also some photos of the male and female Hongsloi. You can see how yellow the female is, usually like this all the time, I just can’t get...
I live in a flat I'm afraid so not been able to collect rainwater over the last few months, but there is a collector in the communal terrace i could use, will be a lot of trips back and forth but willing to give it a go. Do i need to condition the rainwater or filter for any bits/leaves before...
