Was looking for males for my lone female sp. Ipiranga, and was offered this fellow for sale. I do believe that this fish is an Ipiranga (at the very least a barlowi-type, anyhow), but I'm not 100% convinced on the sex. Am I irrational in believing this fish to be a particularly large female...
How aggressive are your Ipiranga? I put a juvenile pair in a 40G breeder with a good amount of wood, leaf litter, and botanicals, but the female frequently chased the male and eventually killed him (or so I suspect).
