    ID please

    A. steindachneri or A. rupununi. Any information on catch location? The shape and maximum size of the flank spot would be helpful as well as pictures of different specimens.

    Sp.miua?

I can't watch the video, it just tells me there is an error. The fish in the first picture might be A. cf. sp. Miua (Demini/Yellow). In the middle of the second picture I see one of the many forms of A. (cf.) pertensis. The fish in the lower left corner might be A. cf. sp. Miua (Demini/Yellow)...

    Atahualupa experience

Fins and general shape are the same as in cacatuoides. The most important distinguishing features are the caudal spot that is clearly separated from the lateral band and the black marking under the chin. The yellow and black stripes in the ventral fins are only shown by the yellow form of A...

Asked for female cacatuoides, came home with this.

But in this case it looks like a true A. viejita in which the red seam at the upper edge of the dorsal fin has faded.

    A.Eunotus?

    It's A. (cf.) sp. Nadelstreifen.

    Help ID

It's one of the many forms of A. cf. personata.

    Help ID and Gender...

Unfortunatly not, because females as well as males of that size can have these features.

    Help ID and Gender...

The fish looks like steindachneri, but from these pictures I can't tell you anything about it's sex. Please show some clear pictures of the fish in side-view (if possible with all fins spread) and tell us it's size.

    Atahualupa experience

A look at the black-and-yellow striped ventral fins alone is sufficient to know that it's for sure the yellow form of A. allpahuayo.

    Atahualupa experience

    It's allpahuayo.

    Is this an agassizii tefe?

    A. sp. Tefe males show zigzag stripes along the body. However, the lateral band (central line?) isn't zigzag.

    Is this an agassizii tefe?

Y Your fish is not A. gephyra, it's some kind of "agassizii". As for the differences between agassizii and gephyra see here. In case it's a wild form (and not already a tank bred mixture of several different populations/color forms etc.), it's impossible to tell wether it's from the Rio Tefe.

    I would contact Daniel Mejia.

    Wild Caught Peru Apisto ID

They are all cacatuoides-group species so they are similar. However, other than this fish, A. juruensis has a caudal spot separated from the lateral band.

    Agassizii or Gephyra?

I would like to add that there are differences in the caudal pattern too: in gephyra, the submarginal band is usually much narrower than in agassizii and there is a lace-like pattern inside of it (often merely in the upper half of the caudal fin).

    Wild Caught Peru Apisto ID

Unfortunately the abdominal markings still can't be seen clearly, but what I see makes me quite confident that it's A. sp. Rocafuerte.

    Wild Caught Peru Apisto ID

Imo the shape of the caudal spot points towards A. sp. Rocafuerte but without seeing the abdominal markings one can't be 100% sure. Please show some more pictures in which the abdominal markings can be seen clearly. Do you know the exact catch location?

    Help identification

Looks like one of the A. (cf.) gephyra forms to me.

    Help with ID

Another picture like the other ones we already know doesn't help very much. A picture when he is in a mood we haven't seen so far, i.e. aggression or displaying, could potentially be helpful.

    Help with ID

    A. sp. Gelbwangen (or one of the closely related forms) is still my best bet. Can you post some pictures of an aggressive or displaying male?
