to my eye it looks closer to a touch of fungus which can be ignored. Perhaps he scrape himself or got a bit of plant matter around the wound. Someone else might spot something more significant but if it is fungus it will last until the wound heal (i would try to examine him with a magnifying...
I just hadn't seen red before i wasn't claiming they will special. I guess i can net a bunch of the eques and move them over the bluketa aquarium - i haven't put anything in it for a couple of years.
When i've had them (pygmy) before they always settle on the ground when not moving around -...
The only problem with keeping dors with curv is they can technically cross breed. It is common for the domestic blue form of dors to be sold as curv in the usa - the curvs tend to be slimmer and body pattern different - seen pictures but of course some pictures are mislabelled ;) I have wc red...
Here are some pictures - another pictures of the eques since a bunch piled up in that corner (maybe a flow deadspot?); i see 2 maybe 4 females rest males going by your chart:
This shows three aquarium with different coverage:
d39 (above picture which probably has too many pencils in it...
Definitely not Thayeri which i've had. It is either l. dors or l. curv - i believe they are dors but i'll let the expert chime in even if i'm pretty sure they are dors ;)
The 2nd aquarium has a lot of plant coverage in an area around 30x16 though in truth i'm not sure those look less 'stress' the ones by the spray bar. This aquarium is more open as i redid it when i moved the d39 and the plants haven't really filled in yet. I do not want to mix the two...
The eques? - what would be stressing them ? Too much current ? Water condition should be decent it is a 65 with ec 30 and gets around 40% water change weekly - only thing that would stress them I think in terms of predators are the d39.
The current is set to (the filter has a dc pump) approx...
two updated pictures of the different male:
polongwe:
Lokoundje:
Unfortunately the lighting and substrate is different between the two aquariums making the comparison difficult. But i think the lok definitely has more orange in the tail.
And to satisfy your hunger a jelly bean:
Just an updated picture of the male - i haven't been able to find the 2nd male for a bit over a week and worried it died or was killed or it could be hiding in the back somewhere; also i'm worried this male might be showing a bit of age - only been 18 months so he should have another good year...
Can you identify a female - not sure i understand the difference. Also in the black population i have 12 or 14 so there are a lot more. Unfortunately for the red ones i only got a few as it was the first time i purchase them - someone said they were like uni which i dislike but these are imho...
Here are some not great photo; group 1 near the spray bar - there are usually 6 or 7 the others are sort of hidden by the rim - total number is 14 or so:
These are of the other group - i couldn't find the ones with extremly red tail but the last one shows a bit of deep red - there are only 7...
I'll get some eventually - not today - I presume the red/black was different populations. They only look bent when they move otherwise they look straight. Hopefully i'll get something tomorrow of the black tail ones. The red tail ones are much harder (different aquarium and they spend more time...
I'm trying to figure these guys out (should post a few pictures). I purchased two groups - one from aquaimport that had red tails and one from wetspot which have black tail. Visually they look very fragile with the bodies waving in and out (other species have a more rigid body - i mean the...
Well the difference is drip is usually a few hours and i was talking about gradual over a couple of weeks but it is not clear to myself it will help a lot.
I have a pair of gold that have settled in and had them for around a year - they won't live more then 2 years or so but my oldest wc ram is 3 years (it was young adult so total age is probably over 4) they are not in the same aquariums the gold with the discus at 83 and the wc ram with the geo...
So a cross between 29 and 20 long in usa. Slightly wider but not as tall. Hum. I have two 100 gallon options (24x48 inch). THey will become mixed species one has ladisalo which are rather docile though if they breed they will protect their area it isn't too large definitely more docile then...
If i remember correctly you kept them in a small aquarium 10 or 15 gallon - sounds like i'll need something at least 48 inches long to prevent or reduce aggression issues.
