I think they are the same thing. Btw light level makes a big different. I have a 2nd group in a shaded aquarium and they are much more pale - they behave pretty much the same - so far they are behaving fairly gently and calm though if startled they will hide in the bottom and i think hiding...
Weird - most of the species i have the male seems to not go after the frys even when given a chance. In fact even the older f1 seem to mostly ignore the frys.
It would be interesting to categorize the species as to which are cannibals and which are not.

I don't think they are Blutkehl but i can't put my finger on it - i know there are several similar fishes like lineata and d51. One of the pictures has the lower bar marks which I think eliminate several of the species but it looks different than the B's i own (if in fact i own B's).
As someone external to the tank you think they can't see but they can being in the middle of it also they sense movement much more acutely then you or I. Once again one of the very best hiding place is decaying leaves that are 2 to 4 inch in diameter - the larger the better. I can't tell you how...
They won't - just avoid an aggressive species and when you first introduce them make sure you have a fair amount of leaves on the bottom they can hide under. Once they get established there might be less aggression depending on the species.

nijjensi, panduro and inka - there are others but those are the most common. Btw wetspot has a. pucallpaensis - you would have to buy 6 but they are cheap and very forgiving of water hardness. Nice little fish - almost a bit more tame than some of the other species.
