Hi terrenlai - welcome to the forum. Only problem I see with adding leaves, in your setup, is that they will settle over the existing plants and block out light / collect algae. I am not familiar with that type of leaf, so I can't answer your question regarding that. If it were me, I would...
July's POTM contest theme will be FULL TANK setups. Any aquatic setup (including vivariums, palladiums, and of course aquariums).
Clean those tanks out, trim those plants, clean that glass, siphon that gravel/sand, replace those lights (seems to be a problem in my room), stock those fish...
Good to know dw. Have had this on wood (especially 'new' wood), when setting up tanks. Never found it to be harmful, just unsightly. I normally have to rub it a little to get it to come off. Thanks for the info and for the question aarhud.

There should be a poll on this page; although, I am not familiar with Tapatalk, and whether it is compatible with polls. When I use standard mobile browser, I can see the poll at the top of the page.
A few things to consider...
If you are attempting to vote, you must select an image to vote for, up above, and "place" your vote. Submitting a comment with your 'vote' does not count in the voting.
I hope everyone here knows that EVERY ONE can vote. With ten pictures, and twelve votes, I'm a...
I wouldn't; a single female apisto, generally regardless of species, is greater than two square feet. I think you would end up with some dead fish. Generally, I would not recommend mixing any apisto species in home aquaria.
This month's contest theme was open to all Apistogramma. We have ten great photos. Choose your favorite and vote. Voting will end May 31st at 4:00 PM CST. Thanks again to all the participants! Please keep conversations regarding the photos to a minimum to assure anonymity. Photo labels...
See if you can't find some oak leaves at a park or somewhere they don't use herbicides/fertilizers. Put a huge wad of them in there -- that will give them tons of places to hide in.
