    Lowering ph with peat moss

Hi, I have a 40L/10G dedicated peat bucket just for water changes. It has a long air stone and it circulates the water through three filter socks full of peat during days. There´s also miscellaneous leafs for a bonus. The bucket also has heater that works only daytime. My tap has a...

    LFS water

How long did you acclimate? When I´ve gotten fish straight from the importer they´ve been in the 900-1000 µS region. Several hours of acclimation has worked for me.

    A. Panduro - How to determine when to move onto a new potential pair?

This is my experience as well. There´s no comeback from that. Apistos seem to have a habit to keel over for no apparent reason...

    Greetings from the netherlands

Hi, That was one handsome pair of Abacaxis! I recently scored my trio of them a few weeks back, they were ordered from Holland. It took a year to get them. Welcome to the best apisto forum on the net!

    Apistogramma Help

I would advice against using those kind of products. Maybe RO/DI and/or peat instead? You really don´t need any fertilizer with anubias or ferns.

Male apistos lost all color and breathing heavy.

Hi, Keep an good eye on aggression. If the male starts to hang on surface and stops moving about, remove him. If you haven´t witnessed chasing and the male is breathing heavy all the time, it could be a disease also.

    Apistogramma Help

I´d like to think that a lot of driftwood, leaf litter and floating plants are a good starting point. This works for me brilliantly!

33 gallon long - Dicrossus filamentosus and friends

I´ve had a group of 8 Carnegiella myersi that have survived on dry food only for a year. 2 of them got stuck behind a filter and 1 was wiped out by ich that Cardinal tetras brought along. The last 5 are still going strong. They are wild caught. I have not found those smaller fruit flies despite...

    A. Panduro - How to determine when to move onto a new potential pair?

Panduro´s can be picky about their mates like all of Nijsseni group. At least that´s what I´ve read. That didn´t look too bad. If the dominated one stays at the top of the tank I think it´s time to remove him/her. Are there any dithers? Which one entered the tank first? Nice fish btw and a...
