    Tank Size Confirmation Please :)

Tank volume is not that important, footprint dimensions are key. As an aside, people outside the USA are not familiar with phrases like 20 breeder. US gallons are also different to imperial gallons. Litres are, thankfully, the same the world over.

    Incredible list - thank you.

    Apistogramma flabellicauda

Good luck. I would be keen to see a picture of the male with fins extended. Did this fish ever have a “sp” name?

Wanted to Buy: Curviceps that look like this...

You might want to post where you are Jim. Also, this might get more notice in the for sale or wanted section.

    Sexing Macmasteri

The smaller fish could be a young male. The fins look like they have some ammonia burn. They should hopefully be fine in good water conditions.

    Male Borelli Hiding

I’m hopeful that I would know they were “steel blue” no matter what they were labelled as. Borellii are very distinctive and not easy to confuse with anything else, males and females.

    Male Borelli Hiding

Wow! I haven’t seen them (in the UK) for at least 20 years. Did anyone ever find out what they actually are?

Does anyone know the history of blue vs green nannacara anomala?

Nice chunky fish. Can the blue/green not be due to how the light hits them?

    A. sp marvalinha

Thanks but I’m not keeping many fish these days as I only have two tanks. You might want to post in the for sale section and include where you are in the world.

    A. sp marvalinha

Apologies if this has been discussed before. Saw this post on facebook. Anyone know about A. sp Maravilha? Looks like A.trigasciata to me in some ways. Thanks

    Ivanacara bimaculata eggs

I wonder if these egg eaters were themselves artificially raised?

    Ivanacara bimaculata eggs

Unless you have a commercial need to raise fry for sale, I would allow the female to keep trying. Have you tried removing the male after spawning? Is there anything you could do to change the tank layout to see if that makes a difference? Good luck.

    N. Multifasciatus - sand

Old thread alert. I have had a colony on N. multifasciatus for at least 20 years. They are in a 70 litre tank. As well as snail shells I use coral sand as a substrate. Helps buffer our soft Scottish water. When I do water changes, I add some magnesium sulphate and sodium bicarbonate.

    Ivanacara Adoketa and fry

If you want to raise the fry, the safest thing to do is remove the male and any other fish with the fry.

Next project - request for comment on layout/stocking for 12ftx5ft foot print

A 12 by 5 foot aquarium? Will you ever see Apistos in there? I’d go for Altum angels and a nice geophagus species. Maybe a large Aequidens too.
