In the process of moving the pair to a larger tank, I stumbled upon some week-2week old fry which I transfered to a small 5 gallon tank to growout. I would just find a small plastic tote and move all the fry into it, makes the process of growout easier. Then the other fish will be able to swim...

I will have some F1 offspring available in a few weeks, if anyone is interested... PM me for more details. They are still growing out. I can ship anywhere in the US.

Ivanacara adoketa male laying on its side

I would ask seller for replacement or refund especially with such a high dollar fish. He certainly is stunning though. Hope he pulls through!!

    Apistogramma megastoma sp. n.

Printed this out and read it... fabulous work. Half of it is difficult to decode, but interesting to read none the less!

The different shades of Apistogramma allpahuayo

Thats pretty terrible. I received around 25 specimens under the popular (and very annoying) trade name of Apistogramma juruensis. Often times, the collectors spell it far from the correct manner. Excited to see how they do in my aquariums.... doing daily water changes and selecting my stock...

    Hello Apistogramma Community! :)

Awesome. I still think that the addition of a few more elements is necessary. There will be a time when you are not watching and when you come back, a dead fish will be sitting on the substrate. I would add a spawning mop. It is a great hiding place for fish that are being chased. I would add...

    Apistogramma Fan !

Good looking fish. I generally remove the fry using a siphon once they get to size. Beware, female will kill male when holding onto fry, especially in such a sized tank. Its always a risk to consider! Especially in cacatuoides ;). Lost my male to a female in early April... that was my first...

The different shades of Apistogramma allpahuayo

Hello, Looking for information regarding each locality. All I know of are three different forms, but there are probably many more. So far, I know of Rio Tigre, Blue, and Yellow. What other forms are out there and what does each look like? (looking for photographs). I don't know how to...

    Female ID

@Mike Wise @Frank_H On first glance, it looked like a cacatuoides female to me... In terms of A. juruensis, there is alot of confusion amongst collectors about A. sp. Jurua (Cruziero) and A. juruensis. The females could be one of the two if they truly came from the Rio Jurua.

    Caucatoides and Panduro?

I would sell the cacatuoides... its not worth having them. They will just take up space. Perhaps look for a trade through your LFS for credit. Honestly, a high number of tetras is a bad method for keeping Apistos. They are slow eaters and they would starve in a tank with a large number of...

    Question about A. Bitaeniata Mamuri

These fish come in very thin so make sure to have a solid source of small foods ready. My go to food is freshly hatched baby brine shrimp. I supplement with small terestrial worms such as grindal or white worms. Everything should be in moderation as to prevent bloat. BBS can be overfed, as it...

    Old Tank, New Apisto setup

Felices I am not an importer by any means, but I have a friend who brings in all sorts of cool stuff. I will have Apistogramma barlowi red face pairs in soon, as well as Apistogramma Baenschi pairs. There are many other species including wild forms of Cacatuoides, so I will let you know. He...

    Old Tank, New Apisto setup

Size and color for a beginner in the Apisto hobby? Cacatuoides or related species sounds good for you. The slender bodied fish require a little bit more attention in terms of feeding and selection. Where are you located?

Yes. Do they get as large barlowi/megastoma?

    A. sp. D50 - another larvophilous mouthbrooder from Colombia

Saw a video of Ray Blackburns fishroom....very impressive. Is he on any forums? They must be D10 then.

    A. sp. D50 - another larvophilous mouthbrooder from Colombia

That looks like a pebas/ortegai/papagayo class apistogramma.... but I am not an expert. @Frank_H @Mike Wise should know.

    A. sp. D50 - another larvophilous mouthbrooder from Colombia

Yes, I saw that too. Frank Ha, Miguel and I all commented on it :). My female does look quite similar, but the fish in the photo could potentially be D10 as well. Both come from the same "region". I need to do some more research.
