    5 foot biotopish!

Hooray, came home to find the C. arnoldi spawning today. Here are some pics and vids from this tank recently. So glad they've done this as the idea was kind of inspired by them!

    Breeding splash tetras....

Well, I came home to find some C. arnoldi eggs on an emersed Hydrocotyle leaf in my tank (only about 3 or 4 eggs). I removed the leaf and have put it in the tub that the hatched C. compta fry are in (loads of them!). I then looked at the C. arnoldi adults and noticed that one male was...

    Breeding splash tetras....

Not found any of the earlier fry in the breeding net for a few days now so they may, or may not be there. However, got home to find about 100 eggs today so going to try hatching them in a takeaway tub on the glass ledge of my 5 footer then put them in a new breeding net in that tank.

    Apisto riparium

Don't know if I've put any pics on here yet. Built a hood with a viewing window but it gets condensed up.

    Apisto riparium

This is looking good. Experimenting with a bit of a riparium myself at the moment, but it's much more heavily stocked and heavily filtered (and a bigger tank - around 250-300). I like the way they evolve over time and can look completely different from one month to the next.

Do apisto eggs stick to pvc?

My A. agassizi female has just layed on the underside of the plastic Juwel filter case.

Do apisto eggs stick to pvc?

It depends what kind of look you're going for but mine have layed on bogwood, stones, coconut husk, plastic juwel filter casing, amazon sword leaves and oak leaf litter

    Breeding splash tetras....

Here's a pic of the fry today. Counted about 8 in total. They're darting about a bit. Poured them into the breeding net so hopefully they'll be ok. The tray has gone back in the tank so hopefully the male will have it filled again soon.

    Breeding splash tetras....

Not that I've noticed, but I haven't kept an eye on temperature too closely. The males defend territory a lot and the odd few fry and eggs have turned up recently but they seem to have been spawning more recently. This may have been triggered by F1 females maturing as the first big round of...
