Just bought 4 of these again. Nice to have them back.

    Breeding Paracheirodon simulans

Just seen this again. The new tank went to the dark side I'm afraid!

What is the difference between A. baenschi sp. inka50 and A. baenschi ?

I've just bought a wild pair of these. I hope they settle in well. Wanted them for a while now.

Any methods in diffusing aggression between wild caught pair of inka 50 apistogramma

Do you have plenty of leaf litter and hiding places? My female A. panduro chased the fella like crazy until he spawned with her when she was ready. Just relied on having lots of hiding places. They could be establishing territories.

    Apistogramma Panduro

Cardinals will most likely eat any fry, but A. panduro are good parents in my experience and may still raise some fry. Different dwarf pencils will almost definitely leave fry alone and may even spawn and a few fry survive.

    Apistogramma Panduro

I've not used a mirror but you may get some fry surviving in the community tank if any breed in there.

    Wild A. barlowi freeswimming

I only ever got freeswimmers once that I'm aware of. My male died not long after this so not had anymore spawnings.

    Apistogramma Panduro

Fair enough. I was thinking more about Jason's 5 really.

    Apistogramma Panduro

How big is the tank? When the females start to breed they will chase everything. If there's not enough cover/room something will likely end up dead. They tend to be rather ferocious once breeding. I have a small colony of them but these are in a 5foot community tank with lots of wood and leaf...

    above and below (Borellii's)

Wow, never seen one of these in flower before. Looks beautiful. Just so you know, your videos are set to private so we can't see them.

    Breeding Paracheirodon simulans

Cheers Mike. I got similar advice from Steve Chester - try the same methods as cardinals. Currently I only have a small tank to try it in and only put 4 in, but may take them out in a couple of days and try P. innesi in there, if they've layed nothing. Getting a new 180litre tank in a few days...

    Breeding Paracheirodon simulans

Just wondering if anyone has achieved this or knows anyone that has as I'm attempting it.

    Wild A. barlowi freeswimming

It's taken a year or so and various mouthbroodings, but this is the first time I've seen her with freeswimming fry! Not great videos, but a proud moment!

    5 foot biotopish!

No eggs with the tree frogs as far as I can see. They go into amplexus every week or two, but don't appear to lay any eggs.

Ha ha, thanks. To be honest, it's my favourite set up so far!

    5 foot biotopish!

Since I posted earlier, the angelfish have moved their wrigglers onto an oak branch, I've spotted a fry on the glass in the 's territory and he's patrolling it with vigour (chasing male angelfish away). The C. arnoldi in my other tank have started haning around beneath a pothos leaf too so...
