Do you have plenty of leaf litter and hiding places? My female A. panduro chased the fella like crazy until he spawned with her when she was ready. Just relied on having lots of hiding places. They could be establishing territories.
Cardinals will most likely eat any fry, but A. panduro are good parents in my experience and may still raise some fry. Different dwarf pencils will almost definitely leave fry alone and may even spawn and a few fry survive.
How big is the tank? When the females start to breed they will chase everything. If there's not enough cover/room something will likely end up dead. They tend to be rather ferocious once breeding. I have a small colony of them but these are in a 5foot community tank with lots of wood and leaf...

Currently I only have a small tank to try it in and only put 4 in, but may take them out in a couple of days and try P. innesi in there, if they've layed nothing. Getting a new 180litre tank in a few days...
It's taken a year or so and various mouthbroodings, but this is the first time I've seen her with freeswimming fry! Not great videos, but a proud moment!
Since I posted earlier, the angelfish have moved their wrigglers onto an oak branch, I've spotted a fry on the glass in the 's territory and he's patrolling it with vigour (chasing male angelfish away). The C. arnoldi in my other tank have started haning around beneath a pothos leaf too so...
