Hi Kevin
Yes i knew it was you....Hope you are well and fish from UK doing well also.
Mike
The eunotus type fish in Steves pictures are the F1 offspring from the fish in the pics below but these pics are not good for ID purposes....
These are fish from France that are supplied as A...
Hi Kevin/Mike,
Weve discussed these fish here before, They came into the UK via France.
I personally dont think they are a Brazilian species...
Some reasonable ID pics here from Steve, these are F1 from Wilds ...

If he no longer has them he may know who he sold pairs too (presumably not Ste1200).
Hi Darrel,
Steve and i are good friends and i regularly pass on Apistos to him for breeding purposes.
As it happens it was Steve who sorted out my female Steel blues that i bred from...
And thanks to Tom i now also have the vast majority of the Apistos swimming in my tanks now.
The A cf eunotus Shishita are absolutely stunning Mike... Very pleased indeed with the A sp Nadelstreifen.

We saw them arrest suspected rebels - hands bound behind their backs...
Hi Mike,
I do know that there are some in Germany...U know somebody who is sending some over to the UK for me.
Good trip i hear...
Visiting Norway this weekend.

Really nice to hear that these fish are also now in the States. Its a species that we should really do our best to keep in the hobby.
You are quite correct Mike, Very soft water with very low pH does indeed enhance this fishes colouration.

>I dont get what you mean by make an infusion
I should imagine what is meant is to make an extract solution Steve....
I make an extract from alder cones/bark/distilled water and the high levels of tannic acid extracted come in very handy for extreme blackwater species.
Great for use as an...
Most important thing is the nets Tom.... Hope you remembered to replace these after the rats ate your last lot.
Good luck to both Tom and Mike...

Im sure Tom/Mike will clarify but the fish in your pics dont look like the true A cruzi to me.... Your fish show vertical markings in the caudal which is not a feature of A cruzi.
I dont think Tom has collected enough specimens for them to be commercially available and i think he has only passed...
Im surprised that nobody has mentioned that this species prefers to inhabit the upper reaches of the aquarium amongst dense vegetation.
They prefer spawning sites at this level too as opposed to spawning at substrate level BUT will spawn in typical Apisto fashion if floating plants/cover are...
Yes i have approx 10 of these beautiful A cruzi growing on in my tanks at the moment. A pair formed from the largest male/female in the group and i have a spawning with a massive brood of 3 (Yes 3) freeswimming fry. More next time im sure as these fish are still very young.....
Thankyou Tom they...
Nice one Andrew, No sign from my group as yet.
If the pH was as normal for your fish house then these obviously dont require the very low >4.5pH that B opercularis required for breeding purposes when we had them a couple of years ago.
They are certainly not as mature either....
Do you think...
You are correct Graham....
I can also log in through other accounts and now i also now know how its done.
I logged into the first one you logged into.

Steve,
I have never seen any true A viejita in the UK and everything sold as such are either domestic bred A macmasteri or A macmasteri/viejita domestic crosses.
I have only ever seen one import of wild A macmasteri and those were much less colourful than your fish with very little red...
Cheers Normurr....
Ive always fancied myself as a bit of a Johnny Holmes(Porn King) but im afraid thats about as far as my porn exploits go....All in the mind...

Ted,
As soon as i realised that some idiot had used my PM to send the spam i looked in my Sent Messages folder. My sent messages folder is completely empty with no sign at all of a PM to Norm. You wouldnt guess that the account had been compromised at all.
So sorry i cant help you here...
