I cant help with that as i dont have any where near the experiance to be able to tell you what country its from, other then googling agassizii locations lol. Good luck figuring it out, hopefully someone will see this that can help in some way.
Location as in what specific area of south america?? Is it a wild variety? If not then the location would be your friends fish tank for all we know, not trying to be rude in any way.
@Happyfins i have read that blackworms rarely breed sexually that they actually split by breaking apart. So Course/ sharp edged gravel would be a good idea, id just use a very thin layer. Then id put some stong air bubblers in, keeping them in the gravel or right above it, the aggresive bubbles...
i guess ill look into grabbing a 20 gallon long, and just transferring the plants and everything over. With a standard 20 gallon long I should be perfectly capable of getting a trio of aggazii right? or should I still stick to just a pair at that size (noted there harem breeders not pairing fish)
interesting.. I have heard tons of people say A.Cacatuoides would do fine as a pair in a 10 gallon since there not very aggressive. Perhaps the times I heard about were just for spawning purposes and then they were separated. I definitely would not put a trio in the 10 either.
iv never...
Okay i have a 10 gallon tank with lots of sight breaks (using drift wood) and heavily planted. There is 3 or 4 pvc pipes for caves(one end buried in the substraight slightly slanted down word almost flat on substraight.
Water Parameters
TDS - 60
dGH - 3
dkh - 0 (color changes on first drop)
ph...
Chris i dont have much experiance with grendals, i use micro worms. A pretty standard live food feeding is normally every other day with mine, granted the micro worms are mostly for fry (if i ever get any). Im thinking of starting a blackworm colony in a spare 10 gallon, those i would feed every...
Yes however the pottery caves open up on the inside right? While a pvc pipe is the same 1 inch throughout. I guess I'll just have wait and see. If they don't like it I'll just toss in larger pvc pipes.
Thanks for all the info! Iv decided to just use the 0kh water and see how my plants react. I'm using mostly crypt plants with a back row of temple plants, and some Red Tigard Lotus. If the plants start melting due to low kh I'll just have to get a second tank for a actual biotype and use the...
So i have some Apistogramma cacatuoides and dont like the look of pots and coconuts in my planted tank. I have read that PVC pipe buried can work obviously at a slight angle so its mostly flat. I was told 1inch pvcp would be good, that seams kinda small for a female to spawn in and fit in does...
Well having it as a planted tank could make it not a biotype, nut ill post any ways. Im using RO water and remineralizing it with Equilibrium. With this my water is as follows-
PH-6.8
dKH - 0
dGH - 3
TDS - 160
My issue is getting the KH raised up for the plants, If i remember correctly they...
thats about 2 feet by 1foot. I'm assuming its about 1 foot high as well. Sounds like maybe a 20 gal Long?? just a guess.
I'm pretty sure you can keep most apistos in that size. How many you keep and what other fish are also big factors tho
Thanks Curtis
Okay, ya calling ahead is probably a pretty good idea lol. Im familiar with DNA, i once ordered N. Becfordi from them once. I appreciate the help and info. My name is josh.
As you may have seen my other post I'm setting up a breeding tank for some cacatu's. I would like to know if any one knows of a breeder in texas around the dallas area.
I am not expecting superb stock as it is my first try at breeding or keeping these little guys. With that being said...
Unfortinitly your located in philli and would rather not go threw having them shipped. especially with the colder weather. Ill look into the celestial pearl danio. That or i might go with nanastromus bekfordi. pencil fish i believe is there common name.
I will go with the 4-5 juveniles and...
