    Amano shrimp

id also like to point out that amano shrimp are primarily filter feeders(using there fans to pull food out of the water column. Them eating algea is a secondary food and some wont graze on it at all. Just like fish each shrimp may act differently and adjust differently. IME my amanos I find...

Need help with female Apisto Macmasteri while other fish having ich???

Im not familiar with treating ich, iv never had it before. However personal id treat the fish that are sick even at risk of the eggs being killed from the treatment. Even if the eggs did hatch if the fry got ich they would likely die very quickly, treatment wouldnt help them most likely. Id say...

New guy with 30-40 Linkei fry

Congrats tho!!! Apistos only really breed when your doing something right, so for them to breed in less then a month means your doing a hell of a job;)

New guy with 30-40 Linkei fry

Really up to you. You can allow them to to feed themselves off of the leaves and wood as well as giving them finely ground fish flakes(sprinkle them in areas the female often bringds the fry to, they can eat it while sifting around). Doing this you will likely lose a large number of the fry...

    cacatuoides color question

i think it could go both ways. Maybe the color fills in maybe it wont. As far as tripple or double, id say its neither. It would be a double if the color was throughout its 2 fins. It may very well be that this fish had spotty genetics handed down and that this is its extent of color in its fins.

I just used spray able plastydip. Comes just like spray paint. Just put down like 4-5 coats. The can says it takes like 30 min to dry but it's dry in 5min so every 5min I did a coat. It looks pretty good and can just be scrubbed off

Ya i will probably ditch the fading out idea, and make the middle of the tank a little more clear of an area, still giving the male places to hangout. Ya i have to left over sponge filters, So i may put one on each side of the tank, one in the front on the left and the other in the back on the...

    Culturing live foods?

WOW ya with that much worms being used i could see how you would need a kiddy pool for them lol. Ya itll be my only tank with fish in it ATM. So i wont need to use to many worms. Although i do have a planted 10 gallon i gotta put some kind of fish in.

    Culturing live foods?

Well that theory scaled down should work then. Say a 10 gallon tank with a sponge filter and an air stone on the other side. 1/2 inch of course gravel layering the bottom. Feeding ground down fish flakes/possibly veggies of some kind. Manually splitting worms every once in a while to allow the...

Will do, ill have to read up on how to do that the right way, i know there's thread for it. Will be grabbing some drift wood and a 20 gal this weekend and will be getting it set up (hopefully). I've decided not to move my plants and stuff from my 10 gallon. Ill just go the biotop direction...

    Culturing live foods?

Okay then I think the on going question is how do you keep them reproducing? or splitting? Do you keep a colony going or just keep what you bought till its all used up.

    PH question?

Yes anubias is pretty good at growing in most conditions. You will get this with certain woods. Its not really a mater of scrubbing it away. Id just brush it off while doing a water change and suck it out. It will eventually stop growing this.
