    Selling as Apistogramma psammophila...

Yep…I didn’t see A psammophila anywhere in those videos. Bunches of cf uaupesi/lineata/flabellicauda types, and maybe a random velifera/iniridae? type. Mystery males at the end appear to be A.megaptera.

Thinking about dimensions for a new tank

I like it. Very similar to my 30 longs that only get filled up 75% (36x12.5x12.5h effective). Only time I’ve ever had apistogramma jumpers was in conjunction with a very shallow tank and a matten/jet lifter

    Room temperature

I’d say if your room is 19* year round, it’s probably not ideal, but if you’ve got some seasonal warming, 19 in the winter months is perfectly acceptable. borrellii is a fantastic species, mine tolerated a temperature range of 16-34* with no issues.

"Food web" in a south american biotope tank

Blackworms will work in my experience. I’ve still got “lucky ones” in the substrate 18 months later in a tank that lives in the 3.5-5.5 ph range

    What species is this ?

Caudal spot, and the white space that precedes it suggests somewhere in the regani lineage. Probably need to wait for Frank or Mike to get more specific

    dicrossus sp rio negro

Holy old post! Fish in the op’s pictures appear to be foirni (two small dots make the “checkers” vs the single dash of the warzeli. 30 long-40 breeder is adequate. Females prefer to spawn late afternoon, once she’s got an ovipositor out, pay attention. Once the male has been “used”, he will NOT...

    Juvenile Borellii (1.5 cm) aggression?

1” in size makes for easy sexing, although at around 1/2” in size you may start to see some females swimming broods of their own around. They’re “sexually mature” well before they’re easily sexed.

Need better pictures of the tail. Vertical bars over the whole tail = female. Pattern/bars on only the lower half of the tail = male

    Pirate Ship

Given that delivery time guarantees were suspended for most of the last 3 years by FedEx/UPS at full price, I’ll gladly ship 3rd party for half the price with the “service” I’ve grown accustomed to over the last few years

    A. Borellii Spawning Advice

Better food for the win IMO. Start hatching the BBS for them everyday, and I’d wager you’ll have fry before too long
