Hi everyone, I'm Brenna and I live outside Chicago in Indiana.
The apistos I keep are:
Panduro
Hongsloi II
Cacatuoides double reds
sp. Melgar (I need help with this name)
Iniridae

I have successfully spawned the Iniridae so far.

I also keep many varieties of bristle nose plecos, L333, L201, guppies, endlers, corys, GBR and angels.
I've been keeping fish off and on since the late 80s and I have about 40 tanks running currently.

Thanks!

Thank you. When I purchased them as group of 6 as fry they had both names on the label. Then someone told me they were called A. ortegai.

Hi all,
Can you get a photo?

There is comment on the taxonomic status of Apistogramma "Nanay/Melgar" here: <"ID and sex.....">.
Thank you. When I purchased them as group of 6 as fry they had both names on the label. Then someone told me they were called A. ortegai.
Apistogramma "Pebas" & A. "Papagei" are now both subsumed into the scientifically described A. ortegai. There is a discussion here: <"newly described: Apistogramma">.

cheers Darrel

Hi all,
Hopefully Mike or Frank_H etc. will be able to give an ID from the photo. Female would be the best I can do.

cheers Darrel

Yes, it looks like a female of what most apistophiles call A. sp. Nanay. It is different from Römer's 'A. sp. Nanay' (= holotype form of A. ortegai).
