    Java Moss Carpet

I've also done crypts to create a carpet-like effect, although it does take ages unless you have the funds to go out and purchase copious amounts of them. The fine leaved ones work the best, and in some cases you might even be able to get hold of crypt seeds that you can use to start from...

    This Is Just Wrong

Some of the coloured cory's and barbs that are availible are also coloured by injection of dye directly into their tails and other sections of their bodies too. It is sick if you ask me.

Bolivian Rams and German Blue Rams

I'm the same. I don't like to keep many fish in my tanks. I find, the more space you give them, the more interesting they become.

    something to think about...

An extreme case of establishing territories maybe? I've certainly never heard of apistos eating other fish before. Well, there's a first time for everything....

foam pad for under gravel filter

A trickle system is a tank that has an extra sheet of glass inserted to seal off a section at the back of the tank. The ones we manufacture have a 4" cavity at the back where the filter is housed. There is an overflow that runs into the back where there is a plate that spreads the water over a...

foam pad for under gravel filter

Dacron padding is what we sell as padding for trickle systems. It's the same stuff they use in some doonas. We get it in massive rolls and just cut it to size. Over here it sells for around $10sqm.

    Leaf Litter

While skimming through various threads, I've heard some references to using leaf litter in the substrate. I realise that the difference in water quality between different countries and areas probably makes it o.k to use in some instances, but don't you have problems with hydrogen sulphide? I...

Nice. I've got a big male that looks almost identical. When I get my camera back, I'll post a pic for you.

    Can two different Agassiziis breed?

It's true, most of the breeders I know attempt to finance their fish keeping by selling copious amounts of fish. The question is, however; Why do you keep fish?

    Bloodworms and Viejita

Randall is right- all commercial frozen foods are gamma treated to remove any pathogens that might harm your fish.

Some of the best tanks I have ever seen run on box filters. I believe there was a similar debate when they first brang out wet/dry trickle filters, and it is interesting to note that trickle systems used in plated aquaria is not always such a good idea. I would imagine that using a skimmer...

What can eat green hair and black beard algae? UPDATE

Have a look at some of the threads on CO2 injection, they might help you too.

Bolivian Rams and German Blue Rams

Personally, I've never had any problems keeping blues and bolivians together. My bane has been trying to keep those nasty little pictus with anything softer than a rock. Nassssty Pictusssessss, we hatessss them.
