Cathy, I can agree that rams come from warmer waters (in nature), but I don't think that blue rams need to be kept in 86F (30C). Besides borelli can tolerate relatively wider range of the temperature then other apistogramma as they are widespread in South America... I think that 77-79F for both...

I don't know the area of the bottom (110x50[x40], 150x40[x35] ?), but I think that you can add a pair or 1+2 of A. borelli without any danger. They would rather occupy the bottom parts of the tank while Cleithracara Maronii or Mikrogeophagus Altispinosus are as well middle-tank...
slipstreamv2, you can keep almost any pair of apistogramma in 10g tank, but it's risky and requires some experience. You should pay attension to pair relations (especially beyond the period of spawning) and water parameters as it's always harder to keep them stable in smaller tanks.

I think you're planning to place too many species in your tanks and IMHO the setups are not proper. You could try of course with these setups as you have empty tanks to move fishes if necessary, but I do not give a big chance to such configurations.

Hi Vic. Tetras size is not practically important as apisto females are generally small and this not make them unable to protect fry. My Taeniacara candidi female effectively protect fry from 6 cm Apistogramma macmasteri male :)
Anyway, Hemigrammus bleheri will always be smaller or larger danger...

Try to catch them while they're sleeping. Wait about 30 minutes after switching lighting off and there should be no problem with removing them. I used this method many times - it takes me only 10-15 minutes to catch all of my Nannostomus marginatus from my 200 litres tank.

Your tank is IMHO a little overstocked. 30 Paracheirodon axelrodi - they are surely mainly responsible for fry's disappering. Corys are rather a serious danger for eggs, but they can also eat fry if it stays on the bottom of the tank.
