I am retired since 2008, partly due to a serious cancer decease which was successfully treated and for the time being is dormant. I took up an old interest and found that it had developed tremendously since I had an aquarium last time.
After a relatively short period with a communal tank, I happened to ask Tom C for advise re. dwarf ciklids and he made me interested in Apistogramma. Not only that, he most kindly also let me into his tank room (that was before he got his present guard! )and let me carry some beautiful fish home. Since then he has been a marvellous source of info and new species for my tanks.
Now I have 13 tanks and 11 species of apistogramma, among these A. sp. "Napo 3", A. sp. Nadelstreifen, A. sp. Barlowi, A. Atahualpa.
I have bought a rack of 6 tanks that will be set up as soon as I get rid of the communal tank, a 530 l Aquastabil. No reward for asking which species will be in those.
My reason for joining apistogramma.com is to learn more and feel part of this more or less loosely knit group of people with a common interest for these beatiful and, even more, interesting fish.
