    Air pump for fish room

won makes a large diaphram pump. it costs about $67 and i am using it to runn about 22 tanks and still have alot of air to spare. i'm sure the linear pump is better but for the price i'm happy with what i got. i hope you are also happy with your new pump.

I think my female ram is ded

sorry to say if you haven't seen her in that long, most likely she's dead. you had better find the body and remove it or else it will pollute the water and possibly kill more of your fish. have you checked the floor around the tank. i have had more than a few fish jump out when i carelessly...

    Keep losing fry

your gravel could very well be the problem. i had the same thing happen with a much large pair of Aquidens rivulatas a few years ago. i could actually see them stuck deep in the gravel right near the glass on the front of the tank. since then i use pool filter sand in my breeding tanks. i would...

yes, those are some exceptionally good looking rams. wish i could find some like that. about your rams, that seems to be out of the norm how aggressive they are. the rams i have kept have all been relatively peaceful. i hope they mello out a little for you.

ok, i keep going back and forth on it. in pics 3-4 it looks female but pic 5 kind of throws me off, i'm gonna change my mind here i think it's female. i'm sorry if i confused anyone i have a hard time sexing it from a pic. if i could see it in person i could be 100% sure. i look at cacs all...

    Help Need ID

it's hard to tell from the pics but it looks like the second one might be a male as well, the ventrals look longer than females usually have but i can't really tell if they are black in the pic. my female cacs all have much shorter and stouter ventrals than the males and unlike the males greyish...

    Rams not peaceful?

are they altispinosas or ramirezi? because altispinosas can be more aggressive than the smaller ramirezi. also every individual fish his it's own "personality" so even with the most peaceful species there can be a fish that is abnormally more aggressive. i once had a rummynose that spent most...

    altispinosa despuit

i would try to find her if she doesn't show up soon. unlike apistogrammas, i beleve mikrogeophagus altispinosa are open spawners. this means that instead of laying eggs and brooding wrigglers in a cave of some sort they usually lay eggs out in the open on a flat surface such as a rock or even...

    female apisto behavior

i have 2 pairs of a. baenschi, they seemed to be full grown when i got them but it still took almost 8 months for them to spawn. then both pairs(in separate tanks)spawned the same week! now i get a spawn almost every 2 weeks. it can be rather disheartening when it takes so long but what i am...

    Strange Apistogramma bitaeniata behavour.

i have had it happen with cacs but the female was sick and died shortly after she was relieved of her duties. with my rams the male takes over as soon as the eggs are layed every time but i am pretty sure this is the norm with m. ramirezi, more or less. it is a very interesting behavior to...

    fish laid eggs help(cockatoos)

you don't need to feed the until they are "free swimming". at that point the best food (in my opinion) is freshly hatched brine shrimps. any lfs should sell eggs and you can make a hatchery very easily here is an article with directions...
