    Apisto for 20g long

probably any apisto is ok for a 20L. if you are going to keep the current female in the tank you should try to get others (1m 1 or 2 f) of the same species. If you don't want to breed them then get species that are different than your currenti so they won't interbreed and hopefully will get...

ID confirmation for Ap. ortegei or Ap. cf ortegei/Pebas

Hi all, I purchased these as Apistogramma ortegai but after reading posts here wonder if they are actually the cf ortegai/pebas. I have 2 females that have both bred with the male multiple times so they are very proific but I am not sure that they are the true ortegai as they show more than 2...

    Apistogramma Agassizii

Tough question...3 weeks is a long time....if you're just keeping just the 2 fish in a 60l the water quality shouldn't be too big an issue. The bigger problem is maybe going to be aggression by either the male trying to breed with the female or worse if the female breeds during your absence...

    Baby Borelli sexing

For me its very hard to sex juvenile apistogramma reliably as they all tend to stay in the female coloration until mature. The exception i've found is with species that have dorsal fin extensions in the males (like cacatuoides and macmasteri) sometimes you can see these early on but for the...

    Are there any other Canadians

Hey Scott, Sorry I just have a pair of fish that I am trying to breed and don't have any extra. I did see some at an LFS in Port Coquitlam,BC (Petland). They may ship for you and I also think that Wetspot tropical fish in Portland has some also. Lastly check Aquabid and they will probably...

    A. hongsloi breeding...good plan for genetic diversity or creating bad mutts?

Hello fellow apisto-addicts. i am breeding A. hongsloi and have 2 pairs of domestic bred fish that were sold to me as A. hongsloi species. I just picked up a trio 1m/2f of the A. hogsloi form ii from a LFS. I was thinking to mix and match the fish to diversify my gene pool as all of these...
