    Wild Apistos...time for another order

I sent you a PM, have you seen it yet?

    Blue Rams and fry

Are the wild-form bad parents as well or is it only because we've inbred them so much that they lost their parental instincts?

    Protruding Jaw

My male Apistogramma has developed a protruding jaw, it looks overly extended from the top. And from the front I can see the translucent membrane with the dark bone (tissue) down the middle. Not sure what to make of it. However, he is behaving normally and eats normally.

    Finally took the Plunge

Poor attempt at a flare shot- Ignore the white specks, they're CO2 bubbles.

    Finally took the Plunge

Thanks, but if I can keep them then most other people can too. All it takes is good water and some patience (they take time to adjust). Honestly, the RO unit was the best investment I made recently. The male seems mature? He is definitely interested, but the female keeps playing hard to get...

    Finally took the Plunge

Here's a picture with flash- The only problem now is that the male is pursuing the female but she is not interested. Will she eventually let in or not? Also, do they need a cave to spawn (will it increase their chances)?

    Finally took the Plunge

Although I've been registered here for quite a while and I've been amazed by Apistogramma sp. for even longer, I never really kept them until this past August where I purchased my first pair of Apistogramma elizabethae 'Super Red'. I know I took a huge risk by purchasing such a difficult species...

    Quality Blue Rams

It is really difficult to quality Rams locally, most are those awfully selectively bred strains that do not have the same beauty as the 'classic' German Blue Ram. Quality Rams, IMO, should look like this: http://www.rosehawke.com/photos/rams.jpg . Anyone know where to find Rams like these either...

    Apisto Finnage

I heard that Apisto's will develop extraordinary finnage when living in soft water, but my question is..Do they have to be raised in soft water as juveniles to get them or will they still develop them as adults?

    Wild Rams

Wild Rams tend to show more yellow and red, and are slightly larger...right?

    Wild Rams

Are wild Rams generally more colorful and robust than their modified counter-parts? How can you get the best coloration in the next generation?
