. . . well . . . maybe NOT!!!
This photo was after they settled in for a while . . . it's either not a cacatuoides or it's a mix!!!
Thanks for looking . . . any ideas??
Hi folks . . . the fish pictured below were just put in the tank 1-2 hours ago . . . you can tell . . . they were given to me as Wild Cacatuoides . . . MAYBE??? Boy they are more than upset!!!!!
What do you guys think????
Thanks a bunch!
Folks . . . I wonder if you guys could ID this one for me. The supplier brought in as A. pulchra. I don't think it is!!
They are wild fish.
Thanks for the help !!
I am sorry . . . I posted this TWICE . . . my mistake!!!! I couldn't figure out how to delete this one! If you know how to delete this please do!!
Thanks
Mike Jacobs
Hi guys . . . I hope I didn't post twice here . . . if I did I apologize!!!
I just got some fish that are suppose to be wild Apisto viejita. See my photos below.
They are maybe 1.25 inches long with the big male being 1.5+ inches long.
I know the wild A. viejita is not exactly an everyday...
Hi folks . . . I need an ID on these fish. They are wild fish and came in as A. viejita. I know the real wild A. viejita is a bit on the rare-ish so I'd like someone to take a look.
They are maybe 1.25 inches and the bigger male being maybe 1.5+ inches
Mike Wise . . . are you around...
Folks . . . I agree with Mike Wise except I predate him by probably quite a few years. I will always remember the first of the wild rams I saw in . . . ahhhhh . . . maybe 1966-67 . . . somewhere in those times . . . they were simply gorgeous . . . I always look for wild rams FIRST!!!
GREAT explanation, Mike! Ok . . . that settles it . . . but probably from the Rio Guapore not the Rio Mamore!!! Sounds like a deal!!!
Thanks again!!!
Mike
Mike Wise . . . I am having an ID problem . . . not me, but an Apisto!!!! About 2 months ago I got a very, very young pair of apistos . . . they were named A. erythrura Rio-Mamore. The first picture is of the new apistos and that picture was taken today . . . they are just getting of age...
Thanks guys!!! I kinda thought they were A. elizabethae. It's been many many moons since I've handeled them and I remembered a more spade shaped tail.
It was a good find and I think I have at least 2-3 females out of the 12-15 pieces I found!
Thanks guys!!
Mike
Mike Wise . . . or anyone!!!
I found these apistos at a local place. Sorry for the photo . . . they are in a plastic critter keeper.
Supposedly they are from a Manaus exporter (spelling???)
Thanks a bunch!
