I have a bit of a follow up question re water changes.
I always use a gravel vac and use it to get rid of the mulm. Should I be doing this or will it be beneficial for the plants in my planted tank?
Yeah sorry Im a bit of a rookie, but hoping to improve :))
This makes a lot of sense, thanks heaps Mike
Thankyou all for your advice, I really appreciate it :))
Thanks Darrel,
A few questions:
What's EI?
I do use tap water, but can I use the hot water from the tap? Is that ok for the fish?
Yeah I've noticed my Rasboras love swimming through the cold water - but I am a little worried of shock. At the same time I haven't been heating the water and all...
Hey all, this is one of those 'silly questions' that is actually silly when you say theres not such thing as a silly question:
When you do your water change, how do you get the replacement water up to the required temperature?
Thanks heaps,
Jeremy
I'm just wondering if I could obtain a starter for a live culture of worms for feeding to my fish from someone who can post to Melbourne.
Cheers,
Jeremy
Thanks heaps for your advice Darrel, I've got some dried Australian Blackworms from my pet shop, but am looking to start a live culture. Think I might go for brine shrimp, do you ever feed them?
Hey Darrel, stalking your post from 2016 haha. I'm just wondering, are there any no-nos in regards to feeding your fish earth worms? Will they be ok to eat all and every earthworm?
Hello all,
Myself (Jeremy) along with my girlfriend (Sirena) are beginning hobbyists in the world of aquascaping and fish keeping.
We recently upgraded from our cold water tank to a tropical tank.
Our 70L tank is home to a lovely apisto named Geronimo, and he/she/they is/are an absolute cutie...
