So I got a batch of 80 cacatuoides triple red, they are now 3 months (ish) old and I'm starting to worry about all of them being females? I raised them on 27c and 7.3 ph water, I raised the temp in order to get more males but holy cow... they all look like females so far and my breeder male...

Ty, looking at it closer for a while I noticed the fins are becoming pretty pointy and the other apistos on that tank (all females) are kinda of displaying their bellies to the one on the picture, I guess only time will tell if it is a male, if it turns out to be a female then she is hugeee lol

This is the biggest one I got, there is no way that's a female right? He was guarding eggs for the second time yesterday so it got me wondering lol

    Apistogrammas eating/disappearing eggs

Currently drying up a ton of Guava leaves and yeah it is a chubby pencil fish, it's the only dither fish I use. For some reason duckweek don't seem to do well on those tanks, probably because the water is to soft? I'm going yo put a lot of leaf litter today or tomorrow, thanks for the advice

    Apistogrammas eating/disappearing eggs

Hello everyone, all of my apistogrammas lay eggs every 3-4 weeks and they usually do tend and take care of the eggs, that's until day 3-4... so after 3 days the eggs disappear, I think the females are eating them for some reason, I don't know what the reason could be since my cacatuoides always...

    Apisto eggs layed on substrate?

How common is for apistos to lay eggs on the substrate? This has only happened to me twice, the rest of the time they lay them on the roof of the cave.

    Help with apistos

Yes each tank on the photos are for 1 pair of apistos, I tought it could be they really never had enough cover... now that they do, they are getting used to actually spawning. And I'm only artificially raising the first few batches of eggs just in case, after that I'm going to let them do their job

    Help with apistos

Little update, I added some leafs and wood... only changed the substrate on one of the tanks, because I don't want to disturb things so much. Last week both agassizzi and cacs spawned! But they both also ate the eggs, the agassizzi on the second day and the cacatuoides on the third day, why do...
