I'm in Tampa. In a few months I should have some F1 Winkelfleck if you're interested. They are approaching 1" now but still not sexable save for a few males.
I have a 20 Long (30" x 12" x 12") that will be housing a pair of Apistogramma. For those with experience with N. rubrocaudatus, how many shall I plan on adding? They will be the only other fish with the Apistogramma.
I got a group of 4 about 3 months ago. They arrived and I asked for 2 pair and received what I thought were 2 males, 1 female, and an unknown. The unknown turned out to be a male.
I keep them in a 33 Long (48" x 13" x 13"). Lots of leaf litter and palm fronds to break sightlines. They are with...
Yes I believe they have red near the gill plate. But also they were in shipping so I expect some stress and/or burn. They seem to have settled nicely. I need to fatten them up.
I have 4x of these arriving later this morning. They said they were sexable, but had an imbalance in gender ratio. If you just want a pair or two, they should be fine sending them. I can update you later once they arrive. I also assume any photos they have on their website were taken from the...

I can...
You're better off checking places like The Wet Spot who typically gets them in 2-4x a year. I still have 1x from them that's probably 5 years old and loved through a literal cross-country move and many tanks.
He looks perfectly colorful to me. If you're comparing him to photos on the web, be cautious as many are overexposed and keep in mind fish are like any other organism where a specific batch will have some that are more red, orange, or yellow (like my brother's hair is lighter brown than mine)...
When would the flushing occur?
- Before or After using it to fill a holding tank?
- Before or After using it to fill a glass of water?
When is the "optimal" time to flush, and would flushing less frequently offset the "advantages" of using previously-conditioned water that is free from...
I did some very brief research and didn't find much, but I haven't revisited. I'm planning to get an RO unit from the same person selling the softener, so I'm not sure of the model, but if the back-flush technology can be applied to any unit, I'm all for learning more. Do you have any links to...
