    Stupidity + a moray = lost Apisto :-(

I made an impulse buy at the LFS and got a white cheek moray eel. My son loves eels and really wanted it. The guy at the LFS said it would be no problem and that the Apisto would be fine. Well, she's gone. I usually do research before buying new fish but this time relied on the LFS...

Can N. Ocellatus and N. Multifasciatus live together??

I'm setting up a 28 gal bow front tank. Can these two species be housed together or should I pick just one? I have sand coral substrate, rocks, shells and some caves. The tank will be ready for fish tomorrow. Thanks!

Driftwood in Apisto tank - could this be the problem??

I think the screws are galvanized and not stainless. Either way, that piece is coming out. What pisses me off is the guy at the LFS said "Diftwood won't do anything to the water."

Driftwood in Apisto tank - could this be the problem??

I just read an article that said driftwood can cause water problems. I have a driftwood decoration in my tank that has a few large pieces attached to a slate bottom. This is in the same tank that my 4 Rams died in after doing well for about 2 weeks and my Apisto male died in after doing well...

Thanks all! I do have 1 Apisto left, a female. She is in my small tank with a few neons and is doing great. I plan to keep that tank simple and make no changes since everything is working good. I appreciate everyone's support! :D :D

    Frustrated and sad fishkeeper

I posted before about my Apisto C. male not doing well. He died this morning. It makes me sad that I could not save him since he was a real fighter and hung in there longer than I thought he would. Some will say "It's just a fish" but he had a great personality and was lots of fun to watch...

Apisto C. not eating and hiding a lot - help please

Thank you everyone! He did eat a little tonight, so that is a good sign. I let you all know what happens.

Apisto C. not eating and hiding a lot - help please

Sick Fish? I haven't noticed any swelling or other physical changes. He usually is a brown color and sometimes turns yellow (which I beieve is normal). He is not eating and is hanging out in one spot most of the time. No stringy stuff. I just did a water change and cleaned the...

I am doing a water change right now and I won't add anything to the water. Is there anything else I can do?

Apisto C. not eating and hiding a lot - help please

I've always used a little salt. What I have read/heard is that it is good for electrolytes and fish health as long as it's not too much. Here's a link for the Proper pH info... http://www.aquariumpharm.com/catalog/aquarium/apaaq136.htm Ammonia and nitrite were 0 and nitrate was barely 1...
