I Haynd,
Your quest is very interesting, because Pv pulcher is usually lost in "F1000" commercial production, and this specie complex needs to be clarified as taeniatus complex needs it.
I'm sorry that I cannot help you, but I can only approve your high aiming that is the best way to achieve...
Hi,
that is very interesting IMO.
Are these pulcher coming from wild caught stocks ?
Do you have pics of these fish ?
Just because Pv pulcher is usually from long time bred lineage and that the description of Pv pulcher complex and strains stays shadowy in my mind. We do not have...
Hi, it seems that H. frempongi is a red colored "green" Hemichromis, isn't it ?
Think that a split is needed in Hemichromis genus.
Does anyone know if A. Lamboj works on that ?
Hi, Randall.
sure that I shall buy the greatly awaited book of Dr Lamboj.
BTW, I may buy the german written book.. that may be an intersesting opportunity to learn german
and species names are of international language, as are pics
thanks for the answer.

Linke and Staeck cichlids from occidental Africa, Verlag. 2nd edition I think.

Any news from anybody about release date of english version ?
Hello everybody,
I'm still wondering and working on sex ratio in Pv genus.
My experience is poor, but with two different Pv teaniatus morphs (moliwe and dehane) I've allways been on the mâle side of the force...
And this with slightly acidic water pH 6.5 and temp between 23 and 26...
Yes, danios are fast enough to escape, and they are not dumb at the point to seek live meal in front of Pv parents.
BTW, speaking of dithers with Pv, do not use neon-like tetras, they are deadly untouchable fry predators. What about Nanostomus sp , killis ?
And what about cichlids as...

Pv subocellatus breeding tank
Hi,
here is a link to a Pv subocellatus breeding tank description.

If I had chance to keep this fish, I would use dithers fish in the tank, as it proves for me to be usefull when breeding and bonding a Pv pair...
