Hi all, as title states I need a male Baenschi "Inka 50" for 2 lonely females. I sadly lost my male recently because he decided he wanted to try and fly, and I didn't find him until it was too late!
I'm based in West Sussex, south of the UK, and local collection would be preferred however I am...
Thanks for the response Darrel. I will have a read of the link, thanks again.
Yeah I'm not the biggest fan of using salt either, I just find it useful for treating against parasites.
He's still showing no other symptoms today, will keep this thread updated if there are any changes!
Thanks...
Thanks for the reply.
I guess it is just a waiting game for the time being. I would treat with salt just to be safe however I have shrimp that wouldnt appreciate that much!
Thanks again,
Ben
Showing no other symptoms at all! He has been eating well, this afternoon i just noticed him "scratching" his sides against various pieces of bogwood.
Any ideas anyone? Water qualities are always good, i do a 10% water change twice a week, and no other fish are showing any symptoms.
I wont...
I am very new to this but I just thought the way they looked and acted towards each other and my male, they stunk of male. I just took them to my lfs and he agrees that they're male, he said 100%. I thought i was being stupid. If anyone knows of any tank bred/f1/f2 Panduros for sale, please let...

Thanks Mike.
I thought this could be the case. I think my male is tank bred and the females are wild, could this be the problem? He doesn't appear at all happy and I'm worried because he took me a while to get hold of.
I think perhaps I need to find a tank bred female.
Cheers :)
I've tried taking some photos of the new fish, I'm not entirely convinced that they're female Panduro, mainly because of their behavior. Also they seem more of a male shape than any other female apisto i have seen before.
First "female Panduro" Sorry about the angle, the second photo will...
Thanks for the responses guys. I've managed to get hold of 2 wild Panduro females so i now know for sure that these girls are all nijsseni. Thanks again for your comments.

Wow, it sounds like you have the ideal set up! If it weren't for funding issues I think I would be the same. When me and my partner move into a larger flat I plan on getting a 6x2x2 to house all of my fish, and will probably keep my smaller tanks as breeders.
What sort of a set up are you using...
Hi, thanks for the response. I should've just uploaded them as thumbnails! Here they are, cropped:
Female Panduro?
Female Nijsseni? This little girl seems stressed still and hasnt yet settled properly.
This fish was sent to me by mistake, i ordered a female Panduro, however it looks...
Hi Alan.
Just thought I'd say hi, as I'm along the coast from you near Brighton.
It will be interesting to share info on what is working and what projects were undertaking! I currently have 3 tanks that I'm using to try and breed apistos. I've had success so far with A. Cacs orange flash and...
Hi all. I recently picked up 3 pairs of apistos, 2 pairs of Nijsseni and a pair of Panduro.
My lfs had both in the same tank and I'm not convinced that he's given me the right females.
