I have a 10 gal with my pair of breeding Cacatuoides. Now I had a brood
of fry that where approx. 3-4 weeks old now they are all gone or at least
I don't see them anymore. I never removed the male but he didn't seem
to snack on them, besides the female kept him away. I have a large clump
of...
The water parameters are about the same, give or take a couple of
points in the ph. But I keep them both between 5.8 - 6.3 ph which
is low enough for my cacatuoides to breed.
Why is it that my triple red cacatuoides prefer to breed in a specie
tank of 10 gals verse practically a specie tank of 75 gal(this tank
has 4 white cloud minnows). I don't get it they have more room
more shells/pots to choose from. This tank(75 gal) is overgrown
with vegatation so plenty of...
Mike or anyone else I actually have 2-3 coconut shell halves per fish,
like in my 75 gal I have 7 shells and only the pair of cacatuoides. But
to my previous question does it matter if my female is larger than my
male? I would have to guess she is at full size at about 1-1/2 inch
and my male...
I had at one point a trio in the 125gal and 2 pairs in the 75 gal and
they started killing each other. I lost a male and then lost a female due
to female aggression. So I split them all up into pairs. The thing is all
of the females have been yellow at least 3-4 times easy, but I never
see...
My question is,is it wise to break up a breeding pair? Heres my dilemma,
I have 3 tanks: 125gal densely planted community(pair of cac's,trio of
Trifasciata's and various tetras), 75gal densely planted(pair of Cac's and
white clouds) and 10 gal with a pair of Cac's only. None have bred for...
aggressive fish
I have 125 gal that is heavily planted with wood and plants. I put two
pairs of triple red cacatuoides in it and one male actively hunted down
the other male two the point of death, also I saw the same behaviour
with the females, I removed the female to a ten gal. I also had...
Does any one actually know what a Peruvian or Amazon biotope or
aquascape looks like? I would like to set-up my 75gal Cacatuoides
breeding tank up like it would actually look like in the wild, but I
have know clue what it looks like. All I know is there is alot of tree
roots that extend down...
I have been looking for A.cacatuoides with full color like this for some
time now, where did you say you got them? I'm really interested in
getting a few with this coloring(full dorsal, tail and anal fin)
Does anybody know where I can find really nice triple red cacatuoides?
I mean full dorsal, cuadal and anal fins red quality. I have two pair but
they just have a little red in all three fins. I've ordered from apisto dave
in Oregon, thats the little red in the fins. The best quality I have...
I have a question. I'm switching from a breeding setup(4, 10 gal tanks)
becuase its just not working out for me, to a 75 gal tank. I have a 40 gal
which houses 2 pair of a.panduro's which live harmoniously and a pair of
a.aggasizzi. In my breeding setup I have 2 pairs of triple red...
I recently purchased a couple pieces of wood from my lfs. I put them
in my tanks and they have developed some sort of white slime, does any
one know what this crap is and how to get rid of it?
