    fish laid eggs help(cockatoos)

The line of triple red I am breeding (if you havent guessed by now, I am who Dwf Puff got the cacs from) have had yellowey/orange eggs with every single batch they lay. I dont know if this is normal egg coloration or just something different with mine  The males are more of an orange...

    fish laid eggs help(cockatoos)

Hey Josh, You can go to Big Als in Burnaby and get frozen rotifers and frozen baby brine shrimp. The babys will do fine on them. There is a good chance that the male will help in the raising of the fry, as their dad actually chased the mom off the eggs and took care of them for the first 1 1/2...

    Temperature swing

I have had luck doing a 10% change every 2 days with our water. I make sure that the water is roughly the same temp going into the tank, or a little bit warmer. My only problems before regarding breedin problems was daddys getting the munchies  But that is not too much of a problem anymore.

I would recommend only having one dwarf species in there, two at the limit.

    A. sp. Blue head?

Now that you mention it Mike, the males in the pictures do not have as high a back as my euntos. Other then that they look almost identical. I guess I will have to psot a photo to get your opinion on whether they are real eunotus 'algodon'.

    A. sp. Blue head?

They appear to be Apistogramma eunotus to me. I would try feeding them them some live foods to see if they are the algodon variety, be cause my male Apistogramma eunotus 'Algodon' displays the same vertical bars along the flank that yours do no matter what mood he is in. If it is the algodon...

    Grow-out Tank Size

I dont have pictures yet, but within the next month. ( I need to buy a digi cam). I have seen and been in so many different hatchery set-ups that I just dont know what one to go with. My buddy who bred angels was using 33 longs as growouts for angels up to quarter size, and 50 long for dollar...

    A. Iniridae sexing

how many did you get, and what size tank did you put them in to? I noticed that a bunch of the iniridae at Big Al's had sold. I would recommend throwing a bag or peat moss right into thier tank as well to get the pH nice and low, since the shipment Big Al's got was all wild fish.

    Grow-out Tank Size

I have about 90 Apistogramma eunotus 'Algodon' fry in a 20 gallon tank and I was wondering how big of a tank would be appropriate for growing them out to a size of about 1" - 1 1/2". I figure if I were to continue using the 20 gallon, I would have to split the batch up between 2 tanks and just...

    a. trifasciatum

hey Naggur, I keep my A. trifasciata in a ratio of 1 male to 2 females. I keep them in a 20 gallon long with lots of plant covering a great big bag of peat moss to lower pH, etc. I have been keeping my pH at around 6.2 doing a 10% water change every 2 days or so, and the A. trifasciata have not...
